Hey missymoo, sorry you're feeling so emotional, I've been feeling exactly the same myself this week so I know where you're coming from! I also know what it's like to want to be living somewhere else. My family (and oh's) live 2 hours away in small villages in N.Wales and I would do anything to be able to go back. It's my home and I long for it, but financially we just can't afford it as the work just isn't there. So we're having to move to a house we own in Liverpool where I don't know many people and though the house is nice, the area isn't particularly. But we're going to have to do it (we currently nearer Manchester but renting is too expensive).
All that keeps me going is that I plan to be back home in time for the bean to go to school. It's so hard and like you I know I will want to be closer to family when bean is here and oh is working everyday, but there's nothing we can do about it for a couple of years.
Just take the positives from where you are if you have to stay, you say you have a nice house, and at least you can be with family in 40 mins or they can come to you. Hope you feel more relaxed about it all soon.0 -
thanks welshpolarbear, poor you, being away from family is rubbish isn't it, I loved 200 miles away for 6 years and it nearly killed me. Trouble is Im just that bit too far away for people to pop round, and i cant just pop to my dads or anyones i have to make a specific trip and make it worth my while in petrol. We can afford to move, but OH just wont want to. It sucks, especially with OH being delayed a whole week too, he would be on his way home right now0

Oh dear, we've been having similar discussions. Hubby says to me one day "I've been thinking about how important it is to be near family and things.." to which my response was "are you *trying* to make me cry?"
We've been talking about moving in about a year and a half or so, even before the bean was in the picture, but figuring out where is hard. Our families live in two different countries (neither of which is England), and friends are scattered as well. We want to find the place that we're going to be for a looooong time, like until we get to be old and retired, but whew...where to go?

Goodness I feel rather bad now, my house problems are much smaller than everyone elses, I guess I should consider myself lucky to be only 40 ish minutes away from my family when jen and polarbear you are so far away. sorry for moaning x0

Don't feel bad. Choosing where to live is hard! In the end, maybe your OH might be more understanding than you think.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0

thanks jen, I think he would be more open to it if I could find a house as nice as the one we live in, in the right area, but that is the problem, there isn't anything even close.... very difficult. Im sat watching big fat gypsy wedding, so bizarre!!0
