For time off before baby arrives, with my 1st I decided to finish 3 weeks before and use up holiday leave and start leave on due date. Anyway I was very emotional on week 5 before finishing and brought it forward so went on annual leave 4 weeks before due date. Mat leave started early as DD arrived 10days early and I got paid for my unpaid holidays.

For baby 2nd which is due in November I think - registered to see the midwife for the 1st time in 2 weeks time on friday as you do this instead of going to the doctor as advised. Anyway not sure how this works as I work in a school and only term-time so hope to start mat leave 3 weeks before due date - we will see what happens.

We sort of told our 2 best friends after daughter's birthday party on saturday but really bloated so we may tell the 2 sets of granmums when over for lunch on sunday about pregnancy but to try to keep quiet. Stop work for 2 weeks on friday so can leave telling them until later in April.

Glad some recent scans are going well.

    hi ya

Am a little bit scared of posting on here, but I am 6 weeks pregnant (still sounds strange saying it, or writing it :D) I only found out last week after me and OH have been trying for nearly 2 years. Am petrified of these first 12 weeks. I've had lots of symptoms already, 1 being VERY sore boobs, feeling a bit sick and stomach cramps, these are what worry me. I was hoping someone on here could give me some advice, I get a sort of dull ache on my left side which is probably due to how constipated I am  but have had the odd niggling pain on the right side, but today I had about 2 30second bouts of pretty bad, period type pains in the right hand side of my stomach, just sort of where my leg meets my tummy, then they disappeared, am now on constant knicker watch worrying, am I overreacting and is there a perfectly logical explanation? Sorry for the questions, just want this sooo much.

Im pregnant nearly 7 weeks with No 2 and getting a few tinges which not sure if I had them before (you forget easily nearly 5yrs on) but also unsure if kidney related as I discovered last year I have kidney stones. I am not really thinkg about it as fingers crossed everything is ok. Hopefully you will be unless it gets really painful - you could phone up to speak to midwife or GP. I was 1st appointment 2 weeks on friday.

Hi Missy and welcome to the thread... I'm on 12-24 now but this one helped me get through all these worries

Firstly try not to worry - easier said etc etc but there is nothing you can do now except be as happy and stress free as you can. Knicker watching never stops - still having little clots every now and then so doesn't necessarily mean bad things. If your cramps are severe get in touch with GP who can refer you to an early pregnancy/gynaecology unit if you have one near by but be prepared to be told you have to wait and see... (otherwise just keep an eye on it and don't ignore constant pain as it can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy :( or appendicitis)

sometimes its fine even with the worst symptoms and sometimes tragically its not even with no symptoms as you'll see earlier on the thread :(

sorry not to be able to be more reassuring but hopefully you'll have a great 8 months and this will all seem very minor x

ps post away.. I always feel better for it x

Can't wait to meet you now baby!

    Hi all,

Sorry Ive been away for a few days, been pretty busy. I am feeling very stressed, grrr!

I dont feel pregnant at all which is lovely. I don't even think about it most of the time, infact all of the time. Its only when I come and here and remember why im posting, ha! I seem to have spent those 4 months being desperate to be pg again, and now I am its sort of boring. Hmm, maybe im just in a bad mood of late.

Got all my dates very mixed up and managed to add a week somewhere so Im not bothering with the scan on the 22nd. Just going to go to the consultant on the 4th. Might book a private one after that depending on whether he wants to scan me at 15 and 18 weeks. We'll see.

Good luck to all those who have scans in the next 9 days. I won't have access to the net and trying to load MSE on the old blackberry is a nightmare.

I am feeling particularly sore about Felix today so I will leave it at that.

Good luck everyone and il be back (and hopefully in a better mood) in 9 days!

Thanks lynn and forumgazer, and Im sorry you're not having the happiest of days redbrook, have read this whole thread and really feel for you what you've been through.

I have come back from the GP as was just so worried, he said i need to keep an eye on it over night and over the next few days and he is going to get me in on an early scan asap. doesnt sound good he said hes giving it 50/50. the pain is all over one side I made the mistake of googling it and it came up with eptopic pregnancy so now im scared sh!tless, OH is away until sunday. not the best thing in the world. Sorry to bring a downer on the thread, need your positive thoughts please my lovelies x

    Missy

    LEFT SIDE IS CONSTIPATION USUALLY
    darn capslock...

right side is probably just stretching ligaments.. you could have the same pain at the left masked by poo pain. period pain is quite normal too.. good to get a scan just to make sure though :D

I am maybe 11-12 weeks and still knicker twitching.. it doesn't get better
