Fancy that, well having been through it all two years ago PM me if you need any help, it is difficult and a major pain in the you-know-where but all worth it in the end of course.

Thanks :) I was last there about 3 years ago now, so I'll be interested to see how it's changed. Although I had forgotten all the hassle, appointments, insulin issues, emotional rollercoaster until now!

I shall now be on "an9i77-spotting" duty in the waiting room ;)

(I'm hoping that doesn't sound as stalker-like as I'm now worried that it does!)
  • Just back from the EPU :( had some bleeding earlier. Got a scan booked for 2nd march ages away :'( panic stations now. Bleedings stopped for now. Hard to stay positive though.
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

Why did they not just do one while you were there? Stoopid people!

I lost lots of blood with a few of mine and they were ok.. I know you can't help but worry but try not to, it won't alter anything and you don't know what you are dealing with yet. I'd maybe try a few cheapy pg tests over the time until the scan..

Hope it stays stopped and was just a one-off, did they take some blood to check your levels were increasing? Hopefully you'll get those results back sooner to put your mind at rest. Sorry you're going through this.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you- hopefully its nothing- but I know the next few days will be horrible for you. I'm appalled that they didn't give you a scan to put your mind at rest!

  • They just kept me waiting around for 4 and half hours :( Earliest scan is 2nd March which sucks. They took bloods there and did internal swabs then sent me on my way. I have to go straight back if anything else happens the bleeding appears to have stopped but the morning sickness is still here.
I hate the not knowing and i know the NHS is rushed off its feet but still you'd have thought systems would be in place no matter what time of night or day just to scan to check whats going on.
Thanks for all your kind wishes :) the husbands got me on bed rest.

  • Hello ladies, can I take a deep breath and join you here? I'm six weeks pregnant but after three miscarriages not convinced this will be any different, I'm trying to be very calm and not think about it too much and hope that I'll just float through it :-) I 'know' lots of you from the ttc thread do lovely to see you here.
Luciferswench I do hope that the scan next week gives you some more answers. I know that sometimes they don't scan if you're quite early as it wouldn't tell them much one way or the other so waiting may be best. It's a hard wait though.
  • hi all i found out i was pregnant last wed after initial being admitted to hospital on the monday ? ruputured appendix. all a bit of a shock wasnt planned (was currently taking mini pill) had some further bloods and examination on friday because of the pain i have been having but everything seems to be normal. Off with my fiance today to have an early pregnancy scan. very nervous but actually starting to get bit excited about having a baby now.

Expecting my life to be chaos as planning a wedding for june 14 and currently rent but looking to buy. so much all going on at once.

If everything ok with my scan today got to tell my boss today as i work with radiation. so although I cant be more than 7 weeks pretty much everyone will know. bit daunting.

Looking forward to discussing everything with you all.

Ha ha not at all sounds like we have the same fortnightly clinic, I will pm you with my appointment time and if it's similar to yours it would be great to say hi. Its good to know another diabetic lady when pregnant as it can be quite isolating going through this on your own.
Didn't realise you'd been through it all before, thought this was your first for some reason, at least you know what you are letting yourself in for!

I have heard they don't do scans as a matter of course to discourage people from using them as a free scan service - they take blood tests instead to see if the HCG is doubling as it should.

Its not right ,they should scan people who need it, but I can understand that some people may abuse the system and spoil it for the rest.
