congratulation Poppy and SpecialK, hope you have nice smooth pregnancies
I'm 1.5 weeks away from booking appointment. Past 3 weeks have gone really slowly, it's hard to believe this time 3 weeks ago I was afraid to take a pregnancy test in case it was negative.0 -
26th march for my 12 week scan can't come quick enough!
Went to docs today and got some anti sickness tablets, but apparently they make you drowsy and dizzy so feel like im swapping one ailment for another!0 -

What did they give you? I've had 6 different ones and they all have the same warning but only one set made me drowsy.
Its trial and error so if they dont suit then they can try others. I was given a fantastic anti sickness drug when I was admitted for excessive sickness but they wont prescribe it to me as its so expensive. Midwife informed me that its normally given to people going through chemo which explains it.

Its buccastem, im a bit weary of taking it though as it says not to use if dehydrated/low blood pressure.
Yeah I think I read about that one, seems to be the favoured treatment in the US, TBF the way I feel I wouldnt mind paying for it myself!
Which did you find to be the best (besides the expensive one)?0 -

Didn't get on with Buccastem. Would me feel more sick. I'm currently on cyclizine. Its a stronger dose than the rest (50mg as opposed to 5mg) and it works for me. Doesnt stop the sickness 100% but the improvement ive seen is fantastic.
The GP can also give you a cyclizine injection to get it into your system. My issue was that the tablets were going down then coming straight back up so having no effect. It did take me being admitted to hospital to be taken seriously tho.0 -
What do you do in construction? It's nice to see another lady in a male dominated industry!
I'm a QS in a civil engineering company - luckily i have been put in the office for some 'experience' (I wasn't happy to begin with - but it has worked out for me!!!) So no extra H&S issues!
I'm also a QS. Small world! I go to sites two or three times a week and I'm often there all dayDon't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

People don't seem to realise how ill people can be from sickness in pregnancy. When I was off work with DS2 I remember my manager at the time making a comment about how she would feel sick from drinking tea but still managed to make it into work *sigh*.0 -
Hi all,
Had my scan this morning and was pleasantly surprised at the speed and 'service' given! The good news is everything seems to be OK. Heartbeat, yoke, sack etc. They've put me at 7+1 which is back a week!!!!
Oh well, at least they've set my mind at ease - no reason for my random pains though. Oh, and she also said there weren't any cysts on my ovaries, which I guess is good news cos I've got pcos.
Hope everyone's well!
ETA - PP Many thanks for the advice about declining an examination. They did an internal u/s which was absolutely fine, but then asked if they could do another internal, to which I just said 'no thanks'. It would have been the 4th internal in 3 days!! :eek:Fritterati Challenge for 2013:

My work are the same. At least the whole Kate Middleton baby sickness should highlight the issue a bit.
Now if only I could get my work to stop ringing me ...0 -

Good to hear baby is fine.. and even moreso that you had the courage to decline their offer!
