Is that the right time to tell...12 weeks?

Most people tell others after their 12 week scan. I didn't tell people (apart from a couple of very close friends) until 15-16 weeks, and then told work at 18 weeks.

I still haven't told most of my side of the family now I'm 22 weeks (only 2 members of my side know:D!!!!). It was hard keeping it quiet for so long especially as I'd had terrible nausea until around 12 weeks!

Eeeeek..just lurking in the thread after discovering I'm pregnant and dreading seeing the midwife. I have a terrible opinion of doctors and medics from my own experiences and was expecting the midwife to be lovely and friendly like on TV. Can you change midwives if you don't like yours?

Most areas have a team of MWs so you may see a different one at every appt. I have never seen the same one throughout a whole pregnancy and I've had a few :p

I haven't told anyone apart from you lot and the lady who does my nails.. OH has no idea, I think he is blind. I don't tell anyone, I just let them notice . it is none of their business.

Hah! Your posts make me chuckle Pigpen! :rotfl:Oh yes - I forgot - one of the first people I told was my hairdresser (she doesn't know anyone I know so I was safe!) - which is quite important actually! She made me put off my highlights until 16 weeks due to the chemicals.

Because I can't tell too many people who actually know me, I found myself telling a complete stranger today. Went to John Lewis and was enquiring about double buggies / getting a ride on board for my existing buggy, so told the sales assistant (heck I'll never see her again) that I was pregnant with my second and needed to think pram options.

Is anyone else feeling a really draining tiredness, I feel absolutely nakkered! Not even had a very hard day. Can't decide if its becuase I am not sleeping very well due to excitement of finding out, or it is actually a symptom. I'm beginning to think the latter! I need my bed!

    Yep, I'm pretty tired too!

And I keep having really strange vivid dreams! I think I remember having a few later on in my other pregnancies but nothing like this

Haha I like the let people notice technique, thing is I think my mum may be suspicious already. We go to her house for tea on a Friday and usually if we have steak I have it med rare, I also indulge in a glass of red, neither of which I could do!
  • congratulations Bangton!

because I'm not telling anyone it doesn't feel real, does that sound strange? A few people know that have to know like dance teachers and fitness instructors, OH, 2 best mates, work colleague and someone I see a lot at the gym. So I guess that's 10 with 5 necessary/ safety plus whoever OH has told.

LOL Pigpen can't beat your record for just one person! that's not even you OH!

Bleurgh! Was sick this morning for the first time in more than a week. I think my boots pregnancy support vitamins set me off. I had thought they were aggravating my sickness so stopped taking them and thought I'd give them a go again today. Maybe just a coincidence but think I'll be buying some new vits!
  • Feeling so exhausted this week, going to bed early and getting up little later but it's not having any effect. My boss asked me if I was ok, as I'm usually in by 8.15 but this week it's been more like 9.15am. Just said not sleeping well and feeling a little under the weather.

I know what you mean about it not feeling real, kinda feels like make believe. My OH has barely mentioned it, He said it's because there's nothing he feels he can do and that he's not reminded of it until he see's me at the end of each day. Suppose it's alright for them, they can forget about it while at work.

  • I feel totally exhausted all the time!!! Rush in from work, cook tea, do anything else that needs doing and I am in bed by 7 watching TV and fall asleep after 9!!! Get woken up a coulpe of times as OH is not the most quitest of blokes!!!

Still only me and OH know!!! Was tempted to tell my boss as had to have Mondya off as I had a headache, but didnt in the end. Still feeling very anti climatic - bit of a pot probably due to eating too much cheddar, boobs a little sore, do feel sick some of he time, but have bad sinues so used to feeling sick!!!

Lolly - I am under the Cardiff and vale Health board. went to docs, got a referral form, they them phoned me and told me what was next!!! I Phoned them up at 7 weeks, I have my booking in appt and scan at the same time at 10 weeks!!! They recommend not having a smear while pregnant (googled), I was under the hospital for smears last year, so asked my doctor and he didnt know!!! Will be bringing it up at my first appointment!!!
