Best of luck with your appointment this AM, hope to get to see / hear your haribo craving baby0

Thanks Lao
The MW told me the obsti dept like to see you after your 12 wk scan, not before. I'm guessing it's because they like to know your pregnancy is viable.
Ah well, nothing to do but keep fingers crossed
Hope to see you properly on the other thread soon!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
MV, I craved haribo too around the 8/9 week mark - I think it's the body wanting fats. Good luck with your appointment x0

Hi All
MV good luck for your appointment this morning. I know exactly how you feel -I have a viability scan next week, I'll be just seven weeks and part of me doesn't want to go in case it is bad news and the other part of me does want to go so that if it's good news I can relax a bit. Although I will probably only relax for a few days before I start worrying about the next scan/phase. I seem to remember last time the 20 week anomaly scan held more fear than the early ones.
this is far worse than the 2WW - I had very low expectations then, I was just hoping to get a good progesterone response to the clomid let alone anything else!
AFM still sore boobs but no sickness yet, apart from feeling a very slight queasy feeling after some meals. I'd gladly take a few weeks of feeling queasy just to know that I am still pregnant (not that I've any real reason to think I'm not, I'm just a worry wart).
I'm still in a dilemma of what to do for my birthday on sat, in terms of people guessing I am pg, it really is too early to go public if the scan was this week it would not be so bad but I really want to wait until I get a heart beat at least.
I'm thinking of just pretending to drink vodka all evening, and getting diet cokes and tonics and pretending vodka is in them. If people want to buy me drinks for my bday, I'll have to get OH to go and get a diet coke/tonic and putting it next to me so I can swap it with the alcoholic drink when no one is looking! Or pretend i am pacing myself. Hey, I'll work something out.
It may just work. Although I'm dying to tell people if it's all good I'll be telling them soon enough and if it's not then I'll be glad i kept quiet.
What I don't want is for them to guess without me saying anything, which will ruin the surprise when I do. Which is why I need to pretend I am drinking alcohol, or else it's a giveaway!0 -
I'm 11+2 today, one week to my scan.
I agree an9, this wait has been even harder than the 2ww (and that's pretty gruelling!)
Ah well, I'm heading off shortly so will check in when I get back.

Got my first appointment with the obstetrician this morning. Apparently you are meant to have your dating scan before you see them, but MW has booked me in the week before so not sure how that's all going to work out.
Wondering if they will listen to the heartbeat, which in itself could be amazing or terrifying given my current state of anxiety about my scan next week...
Oooh.. they might sneak you in for a scan while you are there.. you can but hope!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

If you really can't wait, you could always pay for a scan - they're around £100 I think. I know that's not very mse but if you're anyting like me it'll be worth the money not to have to wait any longer. AFM the earliest I could get a private scan would be next week, which is when I'm having my NHS one, if I had to wait til 12 weeks I would defo pay for one.
The cynical part of me thinks that the NHS aren't giving me an early scan for any other reason than because the diabetes management side in pregnancy is quite labour intensive and uses up a lot of NHS resources and they probably don't want to waste the time of the various doctors midwifes and nurses I'd be seeing before 12 weeks if there was no viable pregnancy at 7!0 -
MV, hope everything goes well at your appointment.
AFM, I'm really struggling with eating anything just now...I've not actually been sick once, but feel constantly queasy, have no appetite at all. Forced myself to have some pizza last night for tea as up til then all I had to eat all day was 2 mini bars of chocolate, tiny slice of cake and an apple, so DH had a go when I got home so managed 2 slices of pizza. I normally cook from scratch but can't stand handling raw meat, or cooking smells. And the meat aisle in tesco makes me queasy. Am doing a bit better today so far, in that I've managed two slices of toast! And about to have some fresh orange juice too. Hopefully this will pass soon as normally I love my food!0 -
The constant nausea is actually better if you keep eating.. small snacks are better than big meals but if you constantly have something in your stomach you feel so much better.. ditch the sweets and chocolate and put in other stuff.. I am living on toast and sandwiches.. which is great because I hate bread!.. rice krispies, soup (with more bread)
Try prepping meals earlier in the day ready to just turn on the oven/hob or slowcooker meals work well.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
