Hi all - can I join in?
I'm 7 weeks (+1 day) into my first pregnancy (yay).

I seen the doctor (and got my flu jab) on 17th Dec and have heard nothing since. Visited the oncall doctor at the hospital on Saturday 'cause I was having some strange pains but she seemed to think it was nothing to worry about.

When is everyone planning to tell work? 2 girls in my office already know but only because they guessed and I thought they'd be less likely to spread it if I told them it was true & not just rumour and I trust they won't.

    Welcome Claree and congratulations!

kittenmaker - its probably nothing to worry about, try to relax

Im feeling pants and really struggling at work. Im so tired and feeling sick most of the time. I am just not as enthusiastic as normal and I'm worried people are thinking I am being lazy or thinking that Ive got the hump about something. As soon as I get home I am crawling into bed and there I stay, getting up only long enough to eat about half the dinner DH has lovingly prepared then back to bed again. Im uncomfortable when I try to sleep as well, so although Im spending half my day in bed I'm not actaull getting proper rest so Im still tired in the morning.

Sorry for the moan, I really really want a baby and I am really really happy to be preganant after all this time trying. I just didnt realise it would make me feel so rubbish when I got there.
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again

I'm exactly the same rum. Feeling good today - in comparison - but for the last week I've been sick, tired & moody.

My husband keeps moaning about all the dinners he's cooked/dishes he's done etc and I do feel bad but I'm not physically up to doing it at the moment! He says he knows it's not my fault but continues to throw it back in my face - next time I'm considering physically throwing something at his!

I agree about not expecting to feel like this! The nausea makes it hard to do anything... My house is a tip! Breast pain has been really quite severe at times. I was expecting tenderness but not pain. Hope all those who are struggling at work manage to keep positive. I'm sure no one will notice any difference as they're probably too wrapped up in their own work.

I was hoping to avoid telling my manager until it becomes impossible to hide!

My GP has run out of flu jabs. Is it quite important that I get one? Will need to see if I can find somewhere privately.

I also need some travel vaccinations for hep A and typhoid but am worrying about the potential effects of these.

Apart from all that everything's good. It really is quite exciting deep down

  • Well first day back at work and i am absolutely exhausted!!

Is anyone else having really vivid dreams? I am shattered when I wake up because they are so draining - I feel like I've been up all night!!

My sympathies to all the ladies struggling with feeling sick and cream crackered. Mine seems to have stepped up a bit over the last few days. I worked from home today and think it was one of my least productive days ever! Looking at my laptop screen seemed to make the nausea worse, so I did the bare minimum. Will just have to make up for it in the office tomorrow though :(

On a potentially more positive note, I am 8 weeks tomorrow and have noticed that my fingernails are growing really well and are stronger than usual. Is that even possible this early?? This is handy (no pun intended :D) as I got engaged over the Christmas holidays as so my left hand is somewhat of a focal point at the moment.
