  • Hi everyone, I've been feeling really rotten the past couple of days and have had to tell a couple of friends to avoid looking really antisocial - they've been great and really understanding.

I have two days to keep food down or I have to go to hospital on Friday for a drip :( If it would stop the headaches and they could give anti-sickness drugs, I think it'd be worth it but it's all quite scary.

OH is a bit resentful of cub (our nickname for baby) for making me so ill at the moment and I really hope it passes so he's not upset all the way through the pregnancy as I'm worried it'll affect their bonding. Anyone else's OH's feeling the same?

Aw bless you - that is really rotten! I am feeling awful too so I really sympathise! It is a bit strange that your OH sees it as the babies fault - I'm not sure what advice I can give there. Maybe just keep on reminding him that it is just part of pregnancy and 80% of women suffer with these symptoms to varying degrees. I would just talk to him and make sure he knows that it is 'normal' to feel the way you are and it is your body that is making you feel that way - not the baby itself. I'm sure he'll get over it when you start feeling better. I hope it will be soon! Hope you don't have to go into hospital too!
  • Hi all, i had my scan today and all went well. Measuring 11weeks exactly. Poor baby was all squashed to one side with my huge bladder! I have come home with more leaflets than i could shake a stick at. Far too much info for my wee brain to process. Hugs to those with sickness, and congrats to mrsj, bigbird and ihatedida on the scans. Hi to everyone else!

Oh sparkles - I'm sorry you're so ill - I hope you don't need to go to hospital.

I'd say my OH has been more upset with me than the little bead (what we call ours - though it's bigger now!). If I can't do anything for days on end he gets a bit frustrated but then immediately apologises and makes it up. I guess it is hard for him having to do all of the chores etc at the moment, whereas usually we share things equally. Not sure what advice to add other than lovecake's.

Yay - minimuffin!! And congrats to any others I've missed.

I had my scan today and all looks good. They've dated me at 12+5. They said the nuchal measurement looks low risk but the full results should come through in the next 2 weeks (or 3 days if high risk). The baby was moving loads - stretching out and putting one of its hands up to its face. So cute!

Great news pippa! :j Love hearing what folks are calling the bubbas! We have been calling it by whatever size it is that week so it has been poppy seed, peanut, kumquat etc! Hehe!

I really want my scan date!! Haha!
  • Congrats Minimuffin and pippa! great to hear so many successful scans, makes me feel a bit better about mine next week! Seems we all have the same empty-belly fears!

Is that stat accurate? My wife is worrying that she hasn't had any sickness at all, I've been trying to reassure that it's OK and she should be thankful.

Not that one of the commentators on the radio helped, claiming that the more sick you are, the better the pregnancy is progressing  Cue more worries!

Sorry to hear you're all suffering btw!

bodge76, some women get no sickness at all and that's perfectly normal. I had hardly any sickness, bar the odd bout of nausea, with my DS and he was perfectly healthy. Sickness is a good sign as it shows the pregnancy hormones are there, but that doesn't mean no sickness is a bad thing - just means your wife's body is coping well with the hormones.

Yay! :T for more good scans :D It's good to hear there are so many healthy bubbas around :)
