Ah Fatman.... for me I wasn't sick so often, but the only thing keeping the nausea at bay was constant eating and I had to have a slice of toast with peanut butter, salt and sugar (and I'm not normally a peanut butter eater!) brought to me in bed which had to be eaten while lying down before I got up in the morning!

(or she might hate it - the other weird thing about 1st trimester was how you couldn't predict what food you wanted from one hour to the next...)

This is what I find particularly weird!! DH will ask me during the afternoon what I want to eat that evening - I have no idea! Mostly it's just toast anyway... We can't even do a weekly shop at the moment because we can't meal plan like we usually do!

Please tell me it gets better... I really want to start enjoying food again (I am usually a big food fan and DH is a great cook!).

My latest thing is sucking on boiled sweets, seems to take the rank taste away and stop me feeling so sick.

The other horrible food thing is that once I've thrown something up, I don't want to eat it again, ever...! So my diet is now pretty limited!

It does get better :) I've been eating (almost) normally for the last two trimesters - only thing is when the reflux started I developed a 6th sense for what foods would aggravate it so I'm avoiding those; but that leaves a vast selection still to eat!

Last weekend we actually managed a short trip to the supermarket. Before that I wasnt really leaving the house other than to go to work, so DH went to the supermarket and Id give him a list, which was mainly ready meals and anything I could keep down snack wise, as I didnt cook anything for 3 weeks and he doesnt exactly cook much lol.

Plus like you said, I changed my mind all the time. I really fancied cottage pie and ice lollies for a while, then went completely off them.

Last week was really into salad with either ham, tuna, egg etc.
Now im on pesto with pasta. I think last weekend was the first weekend I started to eat properly again, the midwife weighed me at my booking in appt on the Fri, and by the Monday Id put on 5 lbs :rotfl: Lost 2 of those now, think it was just bloating, but at least Ive put back on the couple of pounds I lost from being ill.

I did manage to eat a nandos take away about a week ago which was the most exciting thing Id eaten in ages.

But yeah I really have no idea what I want to eat until about an hour before! So DH just sorts himself out as although he always gets home later than me, i just havent been able to cook more than about 4 meals in the past 4 weeks!

Lovecake - Pleased to hear you have finally got your scan - can you not rearrange your appointments - I have rearranged my 20 week scan quite easily (but obviously i probably have a different health authority to you) - give them a call and see, they can only say no?

Toooldforthis - the stickiest, honey-coated vibes ever flowing your way! :)

I just want to give you sicky ladies some hope - this is my first full day without any nausea! Wehay!:T The stories about it all going are true (or for me they are!) - I had forgotten what life is like without nausea!!!:rotfl:(no more carrier bags in my pocket....just incase....although I have never puked....I have come very close!). I can now brush my teeth without gagging! I hope you all feel better soon :o

I am the same with being incredibly fussy / not knowing what food I can possibly fancy/eat each day! My real saviour has been boiled sweets, I don't know what I did without them - they really take the immediate gagging away (even if I still feel queasy/fussy).

My big news of the day is that I told my manager today. I am waiting to tell the people I manage/the office generally until we hear back about the downs screening, but my manager is working from home tomorrow and then has the big meeting on Monday where SMT set our budgets for next year so I wanted her to know her team would be one down for part of the year! It went really well, she hugged me and said she was afraid I was going to resign or tell her our team were in revolt! So that feels like a big weight of my shoulders :T
