    Congrats and welcome newbies!

    Bigbird - wonderful news!! :j

I think we will do a facebook announcement because we have lived in 3 different countries and it would be too difficult to tell everyone important personally. We will send personal messages to very close people and face to face for some here in the UK! Totally see that there are downsides too, particularly to those TTC and struggling :(

My scan (and booking appointment) is tomorrow! Yay!

lovecake - that sucks so much. Can you keep phoning them everyday, chasing them?

Agree on the feeling a bit down about feeling sick. It is really hard to enjoy/feel grateful when you feel so rubbish. I really hope I start feeling better soon.

    Welcome Girlzmum and congratulations!

BigBird - great news. It's a totally personal decision as to how you announce it - I am with a few others in that I wouldn't do a Facebook announcement, would prefer to send individual messages, and I it can be quite upsetting when you are ttc to see other people's announcements - even though you are really happy for them! Whatever you decide, it's great news and I'm sure your friends will be very very happy for you!

Claire16c - yay for having a scan date! Good thinking with the 9am appointment. Mine was at 3pm and I couldn't concentrate at work all morning thinking about it. We've booked the 20 week scan for 08.10  That might have been just a bit tooo early!

Just spoke to my mum who said that her sickness with me ended at about 16 weeks.... here's hoping mine ends before then, I don't really want another 4 weeks of this!!

My mum said hers with me and my sister lasted til 16 weeks too. She said when I was 18 months and she was being sick with my sister, I used to go into the bathroom and stand by the toilet with her and cough, like I was trying to copy her :rotfl:

I havent felt as sick the past couple of days. Still nauseous but havent puked up anything other than spit and only once a day.

But I now feel like bursting into tears at anything slightly emotional.

Also doing google searches Ive read some people had it go away and them come with a vengence!

Its weird though, now I dont feel as sick, it makes me worry more. So in some ways Id rather be sick! I dont think we can win :)
  • I'm still lurking !!! Congrats everyone :-)
I'm at the point when I had my miscarriage so am

Had my scan today - was so nervous that there wouldn't be anything there....but there was....and I think its male! It just slept through the whole scan!!! :D (hence male!).

I'm sure I saw a sticky out nub bit - and thats supposed to mean a boy too isn't it? (been researching on the net and you can tell sometimes at 13 weeks if its lying in right position).

They have now dated me 13+1; 2 days more than I thought I was. We're only going to tell a very few close friends and family until after Xmas.

The blood test.... They took one vial from one arm and I thanked them for only taking one vial and it didn't hurt a bit.....and they questioned this....I said I thought they were supposed to be taking more. They then saw the blood form and realised I hadn't had any blood taken before so they took blood from the other arm too - but this time they couldn't get any easily and I could feel them poking around a bit with the needle - uuugh! And to top it off....I have to go back to pick up my notes - in the confusion, the nurse left my maternity notes (and kitchen plans which I had hidden also in the folder :D) on the side!!!! (and needless to say, I ran out before they decided they wanted any more blood!!!!)

But I'm happy the baby appears to be fine (and lazy like my OH!) - just got to wait for my nuchal test results now......

Bless you lovecake and Mrsj28 - hope you feel better soon. My nausea has halved - still never been sick - but over the past 2 days nausea seems to have eased quite a bit. So it shouldn't last that much longer for you hopefully. Toooldforthis - I am also too old for this (I feel ancient on here in my late 30s!) - lots of sticky vibes to you.

I'm going to lurk a bit longer until 14 weeks if thats ok - I like you lot and feel we've shared quite a few ups and downs :-)

    Hi all,

So I've been lurking for a few weeks in between vomiting sessions so thought I'd pop up and say hello.

I'm currently at 10wks and everyone I have contact with knows as there is no way of hiding this level of sickness and weight loss! I do keep reminding myself I'm slightly better than in my last pregnancy...

I've noticed a few names I recognise from last time I was in the pregnancy forums which is nice.

Also, very jealous of those getting scans at 12wks- I have to wait until 2nd Jan for mine, when I'll be over 14wks.

Love this- DS has taken his (otherwise unused) potty from the cupboard and positioned it next to the toilet so he can "throw up" with me!

Bigbird if u find anywhere that does 35" maternity jeans/ trews let me know! I have a real nightmare at the best of times as in tall n plus size! Also dreading boobs getting bigger as I in the biggest cup size I can get without paying £45+ per bra!!! Big boobs skinny rib cage!

    Perhaps http://www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/uk/100/maternity-trousers/TR078.html ?
Expensive but if you look for a sale the quality is good, I didn't get any bottoms from them but did get some tops.
For bras look at bras4mums - I decided not to buy maternity bras but go straight to nursing ones to get better value with the only caveat being that when your milk comes in your size might go up further!

I've bookmarked this page, which has links to a few sites that do longer lengths. The site I got trousers from last time doesn't seem to be around anymore, but the brand of the jeans I had was Noppies, which do appear on at least one of those sites. They were quite a slim fit though, so worth going up a size if you go for that particular brand.

Cheers for that, their long length is 34" which I might just get away with. But £99 for a pair of jeans  I wouldn't pay that for a pair I'd expect to be wearing for a couple of years, never mind a few months :o I'll keep an eye out for a sale though.

I just got nursing bras last time too. I need to get DH to get them out of the loft as I think I'll be needing them soon.

Yay for the great scan IHateDida :T You might be right about it being a boy, my DS was fast asleep for both of his scans. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security that this means it'll be a nice quiet one though - since he worked out how to move around, he's been like a little whirlwind! :D

Fingers firmly crossed for you Toooldforthis. I know the stage of a previous miscarriage can be a stressful time, but I'm sure you'll be OK.

And welcome ASHeta, I hope your sickness eases soon.
