Oh crikes. My firt doc appointment is Wednesday morning and I'm terrified!!!

Can anyone tell me what they will do at my first appointment?

    Thanks

Been able to make an appointment this evening to get into my docs!

From what I can gather on here the appointment at the docs is just so they can fill in the paperwork to refer you to the hospital – or was it that appointment you were on about?!

No just the regular docs one that you have first off. Jut I hate my doc and wish I could have cut him out completely! X

  • my very first gp appointment I just said i had taken a positive test and they then enter that along with you lmp date into your notes and refer you to a midwife who contacts you around 8 weeks for your proper booking in appointment, but every gp surgery has a different procedure

With mine I just needed to ring reception and ask procedure. I didn't need a GP appt, just had to pop in and fill out a form to be referred to the midwife and then they contact you. The midwives usually like to see you between 8-12 weeks for a booking in appt. Feels like a long wait to be seen by someone!

For me, I had to go to the GP as the midwives don't take self-referrals. It depends on the GP and whether or not they have an attaching midwife or not, as well as your area I think. For me the GP literally only asked which hospital and when my last LMP was and that was it. Remember to check that the referral has been received by the midwives if you don't hear anything!

With my midwife I just turned up at reception and said I need to book a midwife appointment please I'm 17 weeks pregnant and the receptionist fell off her chair lol. The surgery before that didn't require I see a GP either.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

  • Afternoon All...

Sickness (fingers crossed) slowly going away but I think the tierdness maybe here to stay!!! :( I'm grumpy at the best of times in fairness but as time is going on I'm feeling a bit more "normal" or as close as I'll ever be to that!

Considering Midwife didn't give my a week plus day dates I'll make me own up (if only I could make it be 39 weeks so bubba could be here lol) According to dates I'm 6 + 0 but I'll come back with a proper date after scan.

Even tho this is the 3rd bubba...I think becuase it was a surprise it is feelnig not very real at the mo but I reckon once I see bubba at the scan it will become a bit more real!!!

I feel like Pants.......... If you saw me or heard me at the moment you would think I had a full on sinus / throat infection & cold. Strangly I have all the symptons but don't feel very ill . It really is the oddest thing ever.
If you can think it........it will happen
  • Hello again

I think my dates are a bit out on the list my app says i'm 8 +4 but this seems slightly too far along for me but will go with it till I see the mw next wed.

Sorry not been on much, had quite a few crampy pains so was a little worried things might not be going well. Had no bleeds and I do have a ovarian cyst so I'm trying to put it down to that. Keep thinking I should get it checked out maybe but part of me doesn't want to in case I hear the worst - does this sound crazy?

I feel pants too. Have luckily managed to only be sick twice but have a cold and feel totally drained :0( It is made worse by all the conflicting advise on what you can and can't take to ease it. Every thing I have in the cupboard just says ask your gp but there not open at this time and god forbid I google anything you just get contradicting advice.

Sorry that's a bit of a long one. Hope your all doing well xx
