    Morning all!

Had a lovely night catching up with friends, but woke up STILL blimmin' stuffy. So sick of it!!

How are the rest of you - it's dead quiet on here, does that mean you are all out enjoying the bank holiday weekend?!

Currently catching up with the X factor, have had goosebumps and cried twice so far, and I reckon I am 30 mins in!!!!!!

Oh I meant to ask a question for those in the know - are you supposed to go to your 12 week scan with a full bladder?

yes you are but don't go with it too full. I was 30 minutes late going in to mine and was about to wet myself by the time I came out

They didn't mention anything to me when I made my appointment, so I went with the logic that a full bladder is easily emptied but an empty one is less easily filled :D Worked for us, but baby was co-operating and the scan machine pretty new and I think it matters less then. My scan was also at 8:30 am or something so just tried not to go to the loo from the night before.
The sonographer did mention that my bladder was very full :o and she said it was good I'd come with a full bladder (don't think she was expecting one quite as full as she got though!). If you have a midwife appointment after, remember you will probably need to provide a urine sample too so if you do go to empty your bladder mid-scan take one of the pots in with you!

Yes you are meant to have a full bladder, but as mentioned I would start filling it slowly! I had to run out of a scan and go to the toilet with my last one because I had waited so long (appointment was 20 minutes late) and when she pressed down on my stomach I just couldnt hold it any longer!! :rotfl:

The sonographer was very understanding and apologised for running late. So she scanned the next lady and I went off to fill my bladder again and then went straight in!!

(That was my 3rd baby (all large ones) and my bladder control is NOT what is used to be....:o)

So my advice is take the water with you to the appointment and drink it in the waiting room x

    Thank you all!

How much water generally fills a bladder. I might have to do it quickly and just before we go in - I have a weak bladder at the best of times!

wouldn't say i'm enjoying my bank holiday! DH has gone off on a stag do leaving me with morning sickness, exhaustion and a 4 year old to deal with so not been the best of weekends so far!
still haven't actually been sick but i think the constant sick feeling may be worse to deal with I feel like i would feel instantly better if i could just throw up!

I usually take one of the sports bottles - or a water bottle - like a Volvic sports top size one? Think they are all around the 500ml mark. But my hospital has got Water drinking machines in most the waiting rooms so I can fill up if needed (or feeling brave....) but I don't usually manage to drink the whole bottle :o

binkyboo - my bank holiday has been pretty much the same - oh has been doing much needed overtime all weekend and tomorrow :( So have been trying to entertain 3 kids feeling like a bag of rubbish :rotfl: - though don't think they have minded the "throw it in the oven" meals they have lived on!

I also echo the sickness thing - once I have been sick I feel great for a while and am ready to tackle the world! Until the sicky feeling starts to creep back....

Am feeling as though I can actually move today (spent yesterday sat on the sofa in my pj's not daring to move) and may venture very quickly to the supermarket when OH is home and get stuff for a sunday dinner. My kids need to see a vegetable at least once this weekend....
