Hey guys, hope no-one minds me having a bit of a moan. 13+1 today and oh I wish this horrible sickness and tiredness would go away. Feeling a bit sorry for myself really :-(

I know it's not forever, it lasted until about 18 weeks with my son, but I am feeling horrible and just want it to go away.

Hope everyone else is ok and looking forward to the long weekend (and sorry to be on such a downer this morning).

Had my nuchal scan and it seemed good! (don't get results until next week, but we saw the measurement was 1.4mm, which is normal). So relieved. Also told 70% chance it's a boy! Argh, outnumbered! I will prob get a phone call telling me I'm high risk because I'm such an ancient old bird, but all my instincts are telling me things are fine, and one thing I've learnt to do over my very long journey to have a second child is to trust my gut.

Baby was bouncing like crazy - sonography was chuckling away. Arms and legs going like the clappers.
  • That's good news Sarah!

My husband (aargh how weird does that sound?!) was being very sweet this morning. We had a lazy morning in our holiday apartment and he spent most of it researching prams/travel systems :-) I think it appeals to his techno-geek nature.

    Hi 2ba3c and everyone!

Cant believe I am 6 weeks today - its only just sinking in - makes it seem very real when i see it on this thread!

Have struggled through work this week with my sickness - secret drawer stash of raspberry flavoured boiled sweets and elderflower water - being the only things that I am not currently wretching at!
But sadly nothing is stopping the sickness :( OH was at work this morning till 12 and i am ashamed to say I am still sat in my pj's not daring to move - though that has proved impossible with 4 children (plus one is the eldest had a sleepover - No idea why I agreed to that feeling the way I do!) But life goes on as normal for everyone else eh!

My eldest DS knows and has been brilliant. If I have a wretching frenzy and start to look green he will distract the 2 small ones while I make a dash for the loo! My 4 year old is getting concerned that I have been ill for so long - but don't want to say anything because it will be such a long wait for her to meet baby! And also its not great throwing up with two little faces either side of you at the toilet asking if you are ok.....:rotfl:

Hi Chonorla, happy 6 weeks today! :j

Sorry you have been feeling so poorly, but glad your eldest is being supportive.

Am suffering at the moment, I started off with a blocked nose (which I read was v. common: rinitius or something?) and I now seem to have a sinus infection - which I always tend to get after a cold. AND there's nothing I can take, right?

We're off to a friends birthday tonight and I am so bloated I am convinced I look pregnant!

DW surprised me with a private scan today! :heart2::heart2::heart2:

We got to see Baby 2b, who is measuring spot on and saw his/her heartbeat of 164bpm and we heard it for the first time!!! :heart2::j

    Suddenly, it feels very real!!

Oh what a lovely surprise a private scan! Am sure that has made it seem very real and put your mind at rest. Always nice to see the little bean growing :heart2:

Yes, I have also got the runny nose (had it with all the others) and a tickly sore throat so I believe it is a normal part of early pregnancy. I can't take anything even when pregnant because of my asthma and anaphlylaxia - so am just doing lots of sniffing and clearing my throat and annoying the OH :rotfl:

Also with you on the bloating - I feel about 5 months pregnant (though there is quite a bit of padding pre pregnancy so may be wishful thinking lol) and have been paranoid everyone has been looking at my stomach all week in work! So anything floaty, smocky with leggings have been my wardrobe this week!

Have a lovely time tonight 2ba3c and I will remain propped up on the sofa in my pj's watching X-factor and Casualty!

I am in my maternity leggings already (I honetly live in leggings anyway) but they were just getting to that too uncomfortable stage. I am with you on the pre pregnancy padding though!! ;)

I am soooo jealous of your night, I want to be at home watching X Factor!!! I am going to tell DW that this is a brief one, or she can make her own way home, I am TIRED!

Ohhh - I just told both my sisters, I just couldn't wait any longer. I officially suck at secrets!!! I hope to god I am not tempting fate.

    *sniffs you a goodbye!!* xx
