Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! 2

I've got my first midwife appt in 30 mins. She's coming to the house. Bit nervous, but no idea why

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind a man entering into your forum discussions. After 7 months of trying my wife stunned me last Thursday with the news that she is Pregnant, the problem is that the previous two weeks we had been on holiday were she had been taking a prescribed tablet to hold of her period called Noristherone. She went to the doctors to have the pregnancy confirmed and also to report a little spotting.

The doctor immediately sent her to the early pregnancy unit were she was scanned, we had a copy of the report that stated she was approx 6w 3d, fetal pole and heartbeat detected. However something that concerned us was the mention of an elongated and irregular gestational sac. We went for a follow up scan yesterday which I attended, the sonographer again noted an irregular sac, but the baby had grown as expected to approx 11mm with a strong heartbeat.

We have been asked to attend again in two weeks for a further checkup, this would take my wife to 9 weeks 3 days. This is our first pregnancy, my wife is 32 and I am 35 has anyone else had this and then went on to have a healthy baby? We are both so worried, the last week dragged how on earth we will be for these next two weeks before the next scan.

Flint, I have no idea, but I am sorry you are so worried. Hopefully one of the lovely people on here will be along soon with some words of wisdom, but I didn't want to read and run

Hopefully someone can help? I got my bfp on tuesday and managed to get an appt to see the midwife next tues (31st). Over the last couple of years Ive had irregualr cycles. I had af every month but cycle days would be all over the place, 31, 39, 33, 35 etc How do I got about working how far gone I am/due date? Ive tried averaging my cycles and it says im 5wks 4 days. My lmp was 13th June.

go by the 1st day of your lmp and then when you go for your scan they will give you a more accurate due date.

Abby - your doctor will go from your lmp and will probably put you further along than you actually are, you will get a more accurate date when you have a scan. When I went to the doctors, he put me at 9 weeks but then I went to the EPU and they dated me at 6 weeks

Abby, and if your cycles are irregular there's no saying that you ovulate in the middle of them either, which is the important date. So as Ikkle said it's LMP and then revised date (if needed) at scan.

abby - have you dome a cb digi test? that might help a little with dates
