hi there, i'm nearly 11 weeks pregnant with my third child. i've had hyperemesis and it's been a rough old time, but i'm feeling positive and just waiting for a letter to tell me when my scan is!0

wow Lozzy!! Thats a brilliant outcome to get!
I'm sorry about your sonagrapher 2bac3c, some people are just rotten.
I had a tiny bit of spotting last night which freaked me out but it stopped after one wipe. I think I overdid it yesterday plus the heat etc so I am just taking it slowly and we will see what happens.Crafting for 2009 items doneOne patchwork blanket, two neck supports, one tea cosy, one knitted bunny, one knitted egg!0 -
Please could those of you who have dismissed having the Nuchal scan because you wouldnt have further testing or terminate a Downs baby have a read of what exactly the test can help to diagnose.
It ISNT just a test for Down syndrome, there are other chromosome abnormalities as well as heart defects which can be diagnosed using the results from the test AND the scan, it can be helpful for them to have the results if the abnormality scan later on in the pregnancy were to show something of concern. It can only be performed at 11 - 13.6 weeks and may help prevent invasive testing at later stages.
This explains the testing really clearly,
Everyone sees Down syndrome as something of little concern, however the other chromosome abnormalities I can assure you are worth consideration.Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Oh my god lozzy that's amazing!! Congrats hun did you find out the sex too (That's the gestation I found out with T!)? Wow what a lovely surprise
and a christmas baby!
My downs test came back as 1:100,000 so low risk. This time round I'll be asking them to look out for extra digits as they completely missed T's 3rd thumb. That was a real shock after 80 hours of labour!!
As far as I'm aware the amnio test for downs carries a 1% risk of miscarriage. It's not something I had to do because my test results were considered low risk but I wouldn't have had it done either way. That's not to say you shouldn't, some people want to prepare themselves for a Downs Syndrome baby. There's no right or wrong, it's up to the individual
T started crawling today yaaaaaaay!Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Hi sequeena :T a HUGE well done to T on the crawling, you will need eyes and ears everywhere but it's so lovely to watch them getting where they want to be! No I didn't ask the sex it just slipped my mind I was just in shock (well I still am lol) that I'm actually so far along, but I have my twenty week scan booked for 10th of August so I will be finding out then hopefully. haha I would love a Christmas baby but I just know I will be over due I was a week over with Skye and two weeks over needing to be induced with Finley.0
