Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts, it was just a shock at the midwife appointment as I'd not really given it much thought. She was quite blunt about the age risk and combined with how I'm feeling, it just floored me for a little while. In fairness, I did know this but didn't really think about it. She also referred me to the consultant same day for depression which I thought was excellent x

Am a lot more upbeat today, trying to focus on the positive. I really don't want to take any meds.

I know that children with Downs can live a happy life, I just wasn't expecting to be quite so high risk.

Izzydogsam - thanks for sharing your experience, sounds like we're very similar in age. I think I'm far too old for this too xx

Metranil Vavin , it's great to hear that your blood results came back as low risk, fingers crossed for mine. xx

I am at the start of the high risk group but my results came back this week at that we are at a low risk, OH and I had decided that if the results came back 1 in 50 or under then we would do the other tests, but in a way were relived when the letter came back, but it still did not stop us worrying, but try and put it into perspective.:)

The thread has been quiet, is everyone up to exciting things?

I'm home from hols and can confirm that it was my cold masking pg
symptoms, an 8 hour car journey today brought the nausea back with a vengeance! I've been in bed for the last hour- a pretty rock 'n' roll Saturday night!

Nothing else exciting going on, counting the sleeps til my scan (10) It's only 3 sleeps til your scan Walby!! Not massively stalking you it's my birthday the same day.

Oh yeah, also hi to opee, and hugs to those not feeling great or waiting for test results!

Argh! Just 40 hours till my scan! Can not wait!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! I watched the torch then brought some maternity trousers for work as I can no longer do any of my work trousers up!!! Had a bit of a giggle though - as I approached the till, I said quite loudly, without thinking, "At least I will now have some trousers for school". Said to DH that people might get the wrong impression as people always say how young I look - lots of parents on open evenings have said to me "oh, so you are not a sixth former?" :rotfl:

Good luck for the scan bet you can't wait :)

I work in a school and I have been asked if I am a sixth former a few times. My children said to me 'mum you do look young but not that young'! What a way to bring you back to earth haha
