 hi, welcome and congratulations to opee and ellie - hope you're doing well xx

not even started thinking about prams etc yet, but my Mum has said about Silver Cross and how great they are - you go for it Mrsgee

Millie - bet you're on cloud9 after your good news

Interesting about age - I'm from an area where people seem to have kids very young and must say I feel a little unusual! I'm 31 (and will be when I'm due). I know of lots of people that I was at school with that have teenagers - that scares me!!!

How has everyone been with the weather? It was terrible here on Friday - our village was pretty much marooned, all roads out were flooded! When is summer going to get here?

Exciting times for the scans - bet you can't wait. I'm hoping mine will be in about 3 weeks, but no date yet.

How is everyone feeling in terms of sickness etc? Can't remember who mentioned vitB6 but I took one this morning and it did seem to help. I have to say I've been feeling pretty ropey so hope it works. That said started feeling rough again about 5 so don't know if the B6 wore of or just the tiredness of the day.

Oh, and I hate to say it, but my OH has been great. He's been doing the cooking (not that I've been eating much), walking the dog and supermarket shopping. Luckily we have a cleaner (an extravagence (sp?) I know!!).

Thanks for all the good wishes peeps :) It feels a bit like a weight lifted! We are planning to get away for a few days next weekend as it has been a stressful few months; my beloved dog died, I have been ill and OH has lost his job, so we were overdue some good news!

We have been marooned in our village on a few occasions recently, countrybum. We live quite high up, so we have been safe, but the surrounding roads have been bad.

I have been feeling on/off v v sick today, one minute I'm ok, the next it floors me! If I take my acupressure bands off, I'm 10x worse, so they are staying put! I'm planning on an early night tonight with my Big Bang DVD and a cup of tea....bliss!

Oh and re. silver cross, I'd love one, but I don't think it would be very practical for me as the baba is going to be coming to the horses with me at a fairly early age, so I think I need a 3 wheel off-roading jobbie :) I still have my toy silver cross pram from when I was little, so if it's a girl, I will be passing it on :)

It's an exciting day for you walby- have fun, we'll want pics later!!

    Welcome Ellie- congratulations!

It's my birthday today- I'm 28, I prefer being an odd number, lol that sounds a bit OCD which I'm really not, my complete lack of interest in anything cleaning related would attest to that!

Anyway have a great day everyone!!

Hope the scan goes well, walby. Looking forward to hearing about it later :)

And Happy Birthday Minted! Have a fab day :)

I'm feeling the pregnancy hormones this morning. MIL (I won't interfere) has already pished me off by telling me that it's likely the baby won't sleep, because OH didn't. Then she told me to stick at one, becauss two kids are too much bother. Then she told me not to go to Wales this weekend because Wales "isn't very nice". !!!!!!!!!

So poor OH got the brunt of it whe he asked a question and I told him to consult his mother who is the world expert on four fifths of !!!! all! Oops!

    Annnnndddddd breaaaaaathhhheeee :)

Hope everyone else is ok and less stroppy than I am :)

    Happy Birthday Minted!

Countrybum - I'm 31 too and most of my friends have just started having kids. There does seem to be this massive gap between early 20's and early 30's.

Walby - we want to hear all about the scan later!

Millie - I had a 3 hour crying screaming row with DH last night the gist of which was, yes DH was doing things that pi**ed me off but I'm taking them way to seriously at the moment. I seem to have some major hormonal moods going on.

I normally have a massage a month which I've not had since the BFP - I really do miss it as I'm not very good at relaxing and find it really helps. So today I thought, why not book myself in for a pedicure. Really looking forwards to it now!

Hasn't rained as much here as everywhere else but as a famer, I'm getting very nervous about a wet harvest. (our worst nightmare!)

zcrat, I don't think a massage in itself is a problem while you're pregnant, just perhaps some of the products used. (And probably no tummy rubbing!) It's worth asking the place who does it for you if you can have a massage in the first trimester.

Most beauty places offer some sort of mum-to-be massage where they use pregnancy friendly essential oils etc, but won't let you have any treatments before 12 weeks. I think it's probably to protect themselves from litigation should you have a miscarriage :o We went to the Bath Spa on a hen do when I was 7 weeks, and I couldn't go in the steam rooms, saunas or hot tubs, or have any treatments. Bit lame!

Thanks Savage. My regular lady doesn't do massages in the first 12 weeks and I've read and been told by other places that they don't advise massages in the first 12 weeks. They don't think it can cause mc but because they don't really know they advise not too.

If anyone knows any different though I'd love to know - I'd kill for a back neck and shoulder right now!

Like the warning on my folic acid tablets not to take them if pregnant without consulting my doctor... honestly.

... I might add I kept up my fitness pole-dancing lessons until about week 11. And I am at the level of dangling upside down from the pole at various angles and so on.
Strange as I'm normally the type to avoid anything "risky" but I think it all depends on your perception of "risk".
On the other handI've not had any medication since knowing I was pregnant and will do my best to keep it that way (no paracetamol either).
I think with miscarriage in most cases it's not anything the mother did, it's just that it wasn't meant to be (especially early on). Although if there is anything you might look back on and blame yourself for then it's probably best avoided.
I'll give you the avoid sauna and hot tub though, as that increases core body temperature and that is bad, but the rest of it smacks of scare-mongering.
