Ally, I think it depends on who it is - all of the kids parents are older than me so to them I look young but I think the students would probably have the same opinion as your kids!
Hi MrsGee, my scan is tomorrow but thanks for the good luck wish. As for the pram - I am quite an old fashioned girl when it comes to anything baby related and so I love the silver cross carriage prams but as you said, they are highly impractical if you drive (which I do) plus when I looked at the Silver Cross website they were v.expensive (over £1000 if I remember rightly?). But if you can afford it, you really love them and you are not driving then I don't see why not. I settled for the Silver Cross 3D travel system as it was a proper pram and buggy in one and we got a matching car seat too - but I would get the carriage pram if I could!
I don't feel like we have many scan dates coming up - has anyone received their scan date yet? Surely it is not just me, Minted and MrsGee? Became Mrs W in 2011

Hi Walby,
I cant afford a new one
but was looking at second hand ones on ebay... most are in very good nick and go for a couple of hundred. I dont think it would be much of an issue having a second hand one as they are the "car" of the pram world haha.
I did look at travel systems with the "proper" pram bit including the one you have but as you said nothing compares to the coach built with the little frilly covers and stuff. I love vintage stuff too for babes, got a lovely lady at work knitting me some matinee jackets and bonnets and booties
Also wanting to give proper nappies ago (mostly to save some cash tho)
This is the one I have been looking at on ebay

Just looking for now tho, waiting till after my scan to buy

Hi guys, not long to go Walby, I'm very jealous. I still haven't had my scan date through and I'm 10 +2 now. Might ring the midwife I saw at the clinic tomorrow if I haven' heard as it'll be a week and a half since my booking in.
Warning; don't read the next bit if you've got bad nausea this morning!
Had a major row with OH this morning. Dog had eaten my birkenstocks last night and it had all come out the other end if you know what I mean. I proceeded to clear it up whilst throwing up myself without a word of sympathy or and offer of help from oh. He gets stroppy with me cos "I'm always telling him off". (I asked him once yesterday to put the plate that he'd taken through to the dishwasher and left on top of the dishwasher....in the bl**dy dishwasher)
His mum is one of those that literally did everything for him. Argh, it drives me mad, he thinks I'm picking on him all the time when either A) I'd like some help or
a bit of sympathy for what I do. He just has no clue how much I do....shopping, ironing, cooking. He cuts the grass after me asking for it to be done and then expects praise for doing a good job. Or he'll say "but I'm crap at home stuff and your good and I run a business - fair do's he runs a sucessful businss that in the future will pay both of us well - but at the moment, It's my business, that I run, in addition to doing all of the above that pays for my half of everything.
Sorry, only meant to tell you about the dog.
Oh, and last night he's laughing when I have to unbutton my jeans saying cruel things (he thinks it's funny) like "be careful, there's a whale on the sofa. Then thinks I'm picking on him when I ask him not to make comments like that. Apparently I should know he doesn't mean it. Fair enough, I'm putting away a few packets of crisps a day away at the moment but if he's worried about my weight he should talk to me nicely.
I've married a neaderthal. (sp?!)
I do love him really, I knew what I was letting myself in for but oh dear lord, he's just been on the phone with "a cold and a headache". Try feeling like utter cr*p for 6 weeks, so tired you can't move and constantly feeling sick matey. Oh, I also had the cold.
Rant over - apologies!0 -
ohh zcrat you and me are 1 day apart ! i am 10 +1 today Your hubby is a bit like mine, needs to be told to do things all the time !... I spent my weekend in my in laws house, i really needed company and people looking after me and DD. I am down with a cold since thursday and silly, i know but worried about the 8 paracetamols i am taking per day cos i feel rubbish.
Hubby cleaned the carpet and did the mountain of dishes we had, so glad.. i need to do the rest of the kitchen, my room, dds room and toilet.. but feel a bit better than yesterday but still unwell.
Mrs Geee, if you can afford it and you like it, why not ? I am learning to drive but do lots of walking so ive got a Quinny buzz 3 , yes, it is quite big and i think baby will be confortable in it and that is the main thing.
WAlby&ally, i think i am the youngest mum in DD school, and i am 28 ! but do look young tho, the children look at me like i am somekind of teenage mum and since dd told them i am expecting, they can not believe it as i have no belly yet, i can see them starring at me every time i go in.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

Hugs hun but the men don't mean it... my OH is totally OBSESSED with my linea nigra and hairy belly _pale_ and keeps pulling down my trousers / underwear / leggings all the time at home to look at it becuase he is fascinated (behaving like a small child) however, it makes me feel self concious as it looks gross...after I told his off he said 'oh its because its the only thing I can see differently and it makes me happy' ... errr i'm 21 weeks with a big belly and b00bs now to show for it but he seems to think that nothing has changed... so is he saying I have always had this belly???... hmmm

Glad my OH isn't the only childish one Ditzie!
Morocha - funny we're so close! you sound like you can get OH to do way more than I can. Clean a carpet? He struggles to clean himself sometimes! Hope you're cold gets better soon. Don't worry about the paracetomol, I thought that is the one thing you can take. It sounds silly but when I've got a cold I get those expensive balm tissues - little things make it feel so much better!
I missed the newbie Opee too - hello!! Tell us about yourself!0 -
Zcrat that's awful having to clean up that kind of mess while being sick yourself. Hope you're feeling better now- I would casually drop into conversation the number of women who get off with murdering their oh's in pregnancy as being so hormonal counts as deminished responsibility!!
Walby, not long now, what time is your scan tomorrow?
MrsGhee I think those classic silver cross carriage prams are stunning! It would be impractical for us but sounds like it would be ideal for you. I had a toy one when I was about 9 and thought I was a proper little mummy!! We're looking at probably getting the uppababy vista but will wait til after the 20 week scan to go and have a play with it. I'm in love with it though!!
Hope everyone else is good and not having a too sick/ tired/ sore boobed day!MARCH GROCERY CHALLENGE £118/ £2500 -
Afternoon everyone!
Sorry, I have been AWOL- bad few days (but all god now)
Friday am, I was still spotting, so called EPU, who did a phone triage and then told me they had no scans til my appt on Monday (ditto other local hospitals), so better to sit tight at home and is bleeding got worse, A&E. Saturday, it wasn't too bad, Sunday am, the blood got redder and a bit heavier and I had a minor meltdown. OH and I decided to carry on sitting tight, as if it was a MC, I'd rather be at home than A&E, but within a few mins, it subsided back to pinkish spotting and remained so.
This morning I felt sick with nerves (and hormones), went to the scan, but (another OH moan to follow), OH was late getting up, so he dropped me at the door and went to park. I went to US and got called pretty much straight in and by this time was quite upset because I was on my own, but it being a busy dept, I couldn't really refuse to go.
Sonographer calmed me down and put gel on, then started to scan. He didn't respond for what seemed like ages but probably only a few seconds, then smiled and turned the screen around for me to see a little blob with a heartbeat. I can't describe the relief. He dated at 7 weeks 2 days
I even got a photo, but you can't see very much!
In short, all is fine and healthy and they think the bleed was from a clot, post implantation. I went to the EPU then for an assessment, but they were more than happy with me.
OH eventually found me and got a bit of a telling off. He is adorable, but a bit dippy and I've told him he needs to pull his head out of his a*se and be a little more aware of what's going on, as I can't keep doing everything....
Happy Millie, despite being knackered, sick and if anyone comes within a mile of my n*pples, I might scream......
Hugs to everyone, esp zcrat and Skintchick, I hope you are ok :cuddle: xx0 -

We've gone for the Vista, tried it at the baby show and it was by far the best one we looked at. It's super sturdy and the baby sits really high up (good for us as I have a back problem). Can't wait to get it delivered and play with it, not coming til October though, boo
Sympathies to all the ladies with useless DH's mine's a bit hopeless too. I had a proper hormonal meltdown at him on Thursday (got home from work later than normal, he'd been working at home all day and not done washing up or started tea. He was playing on his xbox ) and he's been a bit better since.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016
