Congrats Jen! DH and I have always said we wouldn't want to know. I know everyone is different and I can understand why people want to find out but I see it a bit like a present - if you know what you are getting it is not as exciting. But hey, that's just me. Different strokes and all!

Millie, hugs. I hope your midwife friend can reassure you a bit. I think it is more of a concern if it is red rather than pink but I can understand your worries. Is there any reason you might be spotting e.g. difficult BM, sex, etc?

Thanks. MW friend told me to come home and rest and I am now booked in for a scan and assessment at the EPU on Monday morning. GP can't think of any reason for it, no sex recently or anything else. I think I need to step away from Dr Google, it's going to be a long few days

At work following the scan - measured in at 12 weeks today so I have a new EDD of 17.1.13. Had the NT measurements and blood taken, am high risk for downs because of my age and I burst into tears about it. Don't know what I'll do if the overall result of the combined tests come back as high risk, guess I'll have to deal with that if it happens.

Was a real wriggly little one, didn't want to stay in position for measurements etc. Strong heartbeat too.

I have to go back this afternoon once I finish work to see a consultant re depression. I have a history of depression and have been feeling both emotional and physical symptoms over the last 4 weeks. Will post more when I get back.

Aw sweetie, just because of your age doesn't make you 'high risk' is just means your risk is a bit higher than if you were younger. The odds are still way in favour of you having a perfectly healthy baby!

(and, to me, the wrigglyness sounds like a good sign that all's well!)

I think I am at the age where I will be at a high risk of downs too. It is a scary thought, but I know of a few people that are young and they had a downs child. We live in an age where science can 'help' predict what might happen, that way we can prepared for whatever might happen. Please try not to worry too much x

So glad that scans have gone well :D I can't wait for mine, just wish I had a date to look forward too! I will probably have to be delayed by a week (assuming they wont do it at 11 weeks) as I am 12 weeks when we are on holiday.

Also, I have had quite a bit of pink/ red/ brown spotting, some for no reason, others a reason. I have had 2 scans and they were fine, but I have spotted since, I am just crossing all my fingers and hoping everything will be ok at the scan. I did find that sometimes the spotting gets worse when I am really busy, maybe our bodies telling us to relax and chill occasionally x

Check with them at the scan place to make sure as I'm not sure when dating has to be done, but if you're having the nuchal test it has to be before a certain time or the little thing that they measure goes away. Babycentre says the scan (for the nuchal test) must be between 11 weeks and 13 weeks plus six days of pregnancy
