    Hi Ladies,

What are you all taking/doing to help relieve constipation. I am so uncomfortable and feel so bloated. I haven't 'been' since Sunday night which is surely unhealthy!

I haven't had anything in writing about my maternity pay either yet, and I start mat leave on Sunday. They are crap at getting my pay right at the best of times, so I'm dreading how they'll cope with getting this right.

I get 6 weeks at 90% salary, followed by 12 weeks at half salary + SMP, then the rest at SMP (or something like that - I can't be bothered to check the policy). I work in the education sector.

SV I know that lactulose is approved for during pregnancy though it tastes vile! I am not 100% certain but think normal but not max strength senna may also be ok but best to check with pharmacist. :o. Also sugar free polos can be highly effective as is anything else that uses sorbitol as it's sweetener. :o. :rotfl:

SV - Lactulose is effective - just becareful you don't have too much! Try taking it with Orange Juice, makes it a little more bearable. Other than that, and a little more gentle is Movicol. But might be worth a quick call to see if this is siutable in pregnancy.
I've been eating bran flakes for breakfast with Sultanas and fresh strawberries and that seems to have helped my tempremental colon! Sorry, TMI!

    Hope that helps

Hi ladies, interesting banter today again!

Just a quick one to agree that working in a male environment is hard for me as well, I manage a beverage company and most of the time I had been working with 3 male colleagues, at least now my assistant replacement is in so she understands a bit more! It's not like the guys to ask how I am doing, how the midwife appointment went (and mean it) etc...
I find even hubby often arrives home, collapses on sofa and although he asks how my day was, I'm the one that automatically asks him if he wants a cup of coffee... like he's done a days work with extra bonus of pregnancy! Bless him...

Now I read somewhere that in our 9 months, we produce as many hormones as a normal woman would in 150 years - sometimes soon I may let these men get a sample of those hormones!

As of Monday I have 4 more weeks at work to go, scary stuff...

Midwife app today went well, baby is measuring ok and turns out he is head down, when I thought he was head up... it's his feet I can feel, and what I thought was his head is his little bum!

I haven't been since Friday.. after I had spicy meatballs... for dinner!!

I can't take lactulose it cripples me... even 2.5ml!!

Fortunately some of my food sensitivities have the desired effect with minimal pain.. :D .. Sweetcorn, beef, or something with a ot of onion in does the trick..

You could try prunes, syrup of figs, or fresh juice... might work and is fine in pregnancy.

Did you see the fat pic of fat me yesterday? Are you that big? (bear in mind the bajooblies are an F!)
