Has anyone got a maternity weekly budget in mind? I know i asked a few days ago but no one was able to help, sorry if its annoying

Nah.. just sick of having no bedroom floor!! and the guy coming to do the gutter might look in my bedroom window *shaaaammmmeee!!*
I stayed up really late last night and I think the baby may be nocturnal.. it was boogying away from about midnight -1am.. I have a feeling it may be quiet during the day after its middle of the night antics.. it can soon stop that behaviour!!!
What do you mean by maternity budget? what kind of things are you meaning to include and I'll see if I can help..
Flower.. a tin/box of formula lasts about 10 days to start with but soon enough a tin will only last 5-6 days. I think we ued about 6-8 nappies a day to start with.. when here were about 10 left I would buy another pack.. they grow that quick it is a istake to buy too many in small sizes.. we used 4 pack in the first few sizes and seen to be spending longer in the 4+ ones.. though we have sie 5 for bed at just 9 months.
I paid off my debts at the beginning of the year and am making huge overpayments on the bank loan once I have got the house to a decent standard.. gutter replaced, bay repaired, pushchair, cot and car seat bought (got the car seat today!) I need to get he girls room plastered and decorated and a quote for 3 windows to be replaced then I am hitting the loan.. I want the payment down from £260 a month to about £50.. which means paying off about £10k... I can do that easy peasy but not before the baby arrives!.
Clothes.. I pick up as and when.. if you consider a large lump of meat is about £6 forego that for the freezer is a pack of sleepsuits or bodysuits.. The rest I just kind of bought without thinking.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I definitely want to try and breastfeed, but want to be prepared in case I cant so thats good to have a price in mind!
Lol - hope I didn't come across like the breastfeeding gestapo then! That's one of the main reasons Im giving it a go - formula is so expensive and I cba to get out of bed in the night to make a bottleMaybe not the best reasons but ho hum!
I've had loads of clothes from my sister too, there will be about 14 months between our girls, everything my niece is wearing now though I remind her not to get it dirty so it can be passed on :rotfl:
My nan did suggest that I stock up on non perishable things like washing powder etc but tbh I haven't really got the room & I don't forsee me buying that much more than I do now!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

Flower .. yes he is still entitled to the leave! I'm not sure but I thought you could 'give' him a couple of weeks of your maternity leave.. I might well be mistaken on that though.
Thank youas long as we know he can definitely take the leave we can budget for him not earning any money for a week. We are planning for him to have a week Paternity leave and then 2 weeks paid holiday leave.
Thank you for the other info on cost of formula and nappies!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Squeak has her own wash powder and I haven't used a box full yet in 9 months.. possibly about 3/4's of a box which included washing everthing before she arrived. It is just the big box of tesco non-bio.. though I have used about 3L of comfort pure fabric conditioner..
Oh.. and I breastfed most of mine.. because i can't be bothered getting out of bed, listening to a hungry baby scream, faffing about with bottles and washing them... Far too lazy but I guess to an extent the children benefit from my idleness in the early years. So much easier getting OH to get them out of the crib and pop them in bed with me and put them back in the crib..

He started a new job in January and so doesnt meet the qualify time you have to have worked for your employer - misses out by a week, so annoying!
Ah I see - how blooming annoying! My OH is planning to take 2 weeks paternity leave - his employer would like to know the exact date! Told him we could make millions if we could predict that!
He's going back then and will save his holidays for a little bit later on as we'll probably have lots of people around in the earlier days of baby being here to help.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
