I had my first scan at 9 weeks - http://www.flickr.com/photos/45010527@N07/5288453566/

Only problem was it was a really long wait until my 20 week anomaly scan! Hope it goes well!

becky sorry to hear you're still here! (In the nicest possible way :D)

I've been on a mission today, have cleaned the entire house, changed beds & made dinner. Off to pick up my niece for a few hours now (am storing up babysitting hours with my sis lol :D)

Thanks for sharing :o I'm not sure if i'll get extra scans again this time around, i had 2 extra ones last time because of being consultant lead with my bp problems.

I'm feeling terrible again this morning, still no morning sickness-but a upset tummy. It's been going on for about 3 weeks now, if i try to eat a normal size meal i feel so stuffed as if i've tried to eat several meals then feel so ill afterwards. I hope this passes soon-my poor botty is sore :(

    Morning girls

Congrats on baby Lily Evie Rachc - what a lovely name

Labour vibes to becky - come on out baby!

    Madbird - congrats on term!

Re: weekly budgets for things while on maternity - we've estimated £300 pcm to cover all "extras" - seems a lot, but this is an average that will also cover the car tax, MOT, clothes for the 3 of us, day trips out etc. It then doesn't seem that much. My local NCT has a Babybees coffee morning which is £1 a session which is pretty good value.

Got a few things this weekend - b/feeding chair from Ebay for £36 (I *love* it!), muslins, baby monitor, some more nappies and my free Boots changing bag and a door bouncer thing from the NCT sale (which was utter madness!). Tried to get my bouncer chair but it was out of stock.

23+2 today - time seems to have slowed down, but my growth feels exponential!! But, I only have 10 more full weeks at work before I do 4 x 4 day weeks and then that's it! Then, it doesn't seem far off at all! Aaarghh!

    xDx

Congrats to anyone in the last fortnight- I haven't been on, so I'll read back a bit soon and catch up.

I was just away on holidays, not anywhere, just relaxing and sorting stuff out at home. Since my partner and I are so connected with computers in work, we banned them for a little bit!
Consultant saw me, and I had 2 midwife appointments, 2 scans- all in a fortnight. Reason was they did a scan which showed one twin, and the second was very small. The scan last week showed only one, the small one has disappeared completely now. Yes, we're disappointed, but in all honesty, it's hard to be upset when we still have one, when so many people struggle to get that.
Tests showed low platelet count, and coupled with the low blood pressure, they're referring me on to a haematologist for further tests. Not unduly worried about that.

So just have to wait and see what happens next!

Lirin.. it is disappointing.. but as you say, andd having been there twice myself it is hard to see an actual 'loss' having never really had it in the first place and still having the second one.. is that one doing well though??

    Hiya,

Does anyone know which of the baby clubs are good ones to sign up to? I keep hearing mention of free changing bags and breast pumps but don't know how to sign up to them!

    Thanks,

    Mancbird xxx

I've signed up to Boots Parenting Club- you get some vouchers including free changing bag and free mum-to-be toiletries set and money off nappies (which you can use along with 3for2 deals).
Pampers- loads of vouchers for nappies.
Asda baby club- free huggies starter pack- which was out of stock at my local asda and voucher ran out.
Emmas Diary- pack from argos- like the bounty packs, vouchers and a few samples.
Cow and gate- free cuddly cow:rotfl:.

The remaining one- have to stop thinking of it like that- is very alive and kicking. It was sliding around that much in the sac we had problems getting a decent pic of it, and when we did, it shook it's fist at us! So I'm thinking we're in for a grumpy child. :)
Yes, I see what you mean Pigpen, it's hard to see it as a loss now. We are lucky, and in truth, if my first scan had been at 12 weeks, we would never have known....
It's beginning to sink in to my stepdaughter that regardless of the baby's sex, as we haven't sold our house, it's likely she will lose half a bedroom..... She's only with us one night a week, and as she has the biggest room, I can't justify changing the study into a bedroom just to keep her room. The study would need to go in her room- so either way, she will lose space. She's fine with it now, but once screamy bundle arrives, and she's lost both half her room and exclusive play rights with us, it may be different....
I'm just going to keep impressing gently on her she's losing space, and change things early so she gets used to it. Unfortunately, while she's a gorgeous little girl, and kind and generous, she's also a rather pampered child, and used to getting her own way, so could be interesting.... :) She was rubbing oil on bump the other day, as she'd seen me do it and wanted to help. :)

That is lovely of you to let her be that involved Lirin.. :D the loss hits when the baby arrives... though mine again was different as mine hadn't been reabsorbed it was enveloped in the placenta of DD1. DS2's counterpart was miscarried very spectacularly and messily. I still look at them and think 'there should have been 2' with them both and they are 16 and 15 now.
