Sparkle, Can I ask where you are flying too and how far gone you will be when you fly there and back?
The reason I am asking is I am flying to the US when I'm 28 weeks and flying back when I'm 30 and I'm just a bit concerned about comfort as I don't know anyone who has flown at this time.0 -
Morning ladies. Just got back from my 25 week appt (but I'm actually 25 + 5). MW measured the baby for the first time today and she said he is measuring small (only 23 weeks). I don't know why but this has upset me a bit. She said it could just be the way he's lying and we're only talking a few cms but I'm feeling irrationally upset and worried about it now. My mum was late with both me and my sister and now I'm convinced I'll be late too. The sensible part of me says stop worrying theres a long time for things to change and it probably doesn't mean he'll definitely be late but I just can't explain it.... just feel a bit down about it.
Any advice?Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
Clarieloo, don't stress too much. As far as I know, the measurement is highly inaccurate. It will very likely change by your next appointment. I have heard of people being told their baby is big/small ALL the time and then it comes out completely normal. It just gives the midwife a very rough guide.0

I wouldn't worry - if she was concerned, she would be referring you for a growth scan to check the measurements. I've measured over and under my weeks before by a cm or 2, and never had a problem with the size of my babies. I have a friend who was referred for a growth scan because of the size of her bump, but when she was measured the baby was exactly the right size.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Claireloo, one of my friends was constantly told she was carrying bigger than she should be and they predicted her to have a 10lb baby based on her bump size. When her little girl was born, she was 7lb something. The rest of her bump was a very large amount of amniotic fluid. She's pregnant again and again is being told her bump is bigger than her number of weeks.
I really wouldn't focus on those measurements too much.0 -

I flew at 22 weeks, only short haul and found it quite uncomfortable because the seat was ancient and not supportive for my back and I was in window seat which felt cramped because I couldn't comfortably bend down to reach my feet or the floor. I'd recommend asking for an aisle seat so you can get up easily. I normally wouldn't care about the seat for a short flight but really noticed it as I'm so much more sensitive at the moment. Maybe take a travel pillow (I know you get them on long haul flights but extras will probably help). I'm glad I'm not flying again but I'm not a great flyer anyway so would just moan twice as much as usual.0 -

If you can find a pregnancy yoga class I know lots of people who have said it's been brilliant. I did tai chi up until recently and I think that has helped to keep any problems at bay as now I've stopped I've been getting back and hip pain0 -
