I know the first thing they are going to do is try and break my waters and if that doesn't work it will be the gel.

I just want this baby out now I am getting fed up of being uncomfortable and feeling like !!!!!! day in day out enough is enough!!!

Sorry you are having such a rough time :(. I will keep my fingers crossed that it happens naturally for you over the bank holiday weekend :D
  • Morning ladies. I was hoping to have seen some royal wedding babies but looks like they just wanted to stay in and listen to it happening rather than disturb the mummies. :D

Had my last day at work. Was a bit disappointing as I had things thrown on me with 15 minutes to the end of the shift but hurried through with the thought that if its wrong its wrong and worst they can do is give me a warning lol but since Im gone theres not much chance really! I was quite disappointed aswell that I didnt get anything from my colleagues :o not that I was expecting loads but a card would have been nice, you know? I was feeling quite upset about it, darn hormones lol. Ah well, my gran has been out and bought me a maternity present to make up for it :rotfl:

Off out to pay some money off the pushchair today and a trip round town with my mum and gran, should be nice.

Hope everyone has a good day x

LOL know exactly what you mean - when I left last week I would have been mortified if they had made a fuss but was stupidly upset that they didn't. As you say a 'thinking of you' gift like a card would have been nice:D

Vroom, Teenie Nic we''re all thinking of you!

Blue Monkey congrats! I must admit we told close family at around 6 weeks as wanted to tell them at Chrstmas, then told friends at 12, so the 12 week scan is the more traditional time.

Supermaiden sorry they were rubbish... forget about them and enjoy the wknd and start of ML!

    Morning ladies :D

Still here 41 weeks today and no sign of anything !! I'm actually kind of ok with it, obviously I would prefer to go myself but on a practical level (child care and other family goings on) Wednesday is an ok day.

I did wake up last night and start panicking about the induction process again and I am quite scared but I have to tell myself it will be ok this time. After the second load of gel that day I went from having nothing to full on painful contractions within a matter of minutes, with no gaps between them for a rest or a breather I am worried about this happening again. Things eventually did settle down into more regular contractions and I know I can cope with these.

Has anyone been induced before with prostin? Was this your experience too or did things build up gradually for you? I was induced for the whole week so i'm not sure if this happened because of the amount of gel (and pessary) over the week or if this is what normally happens with prostin??

Well it's a gorgeous day here again, we have been so lucky with this weather so going to have to get out, I don't feel i have been out the whole week between not being well etc not that I can actually walk anywhere LOL this baby makes that impossible!!

Enjoy your day ladies and fingers crossed for us boldies :D

Just lurking when I saw your post. I was induced with prostin and I'm not going to lie to you- I was in agony! They put it in about 5pm Wednesday and I tried to have some sleep but I was having pains and when I went to the loo about 3am I had a show. From having a dull ache which was totally manageable I started having full on contractions and I distinctly remember crying at OH saying "i can't do this".

But...had an epidural about 9 30am and it was bliss! Amelia is my first baby so I don't have anything to compare the pain too but all the midwives kept saying to me that being induced hurt more than going into labour naturally. Maybe being induced does hurt more or maybe I just have a very low pain threshold!

Anyway, gotta go! Hope you ladies and bumps are doing well and labour vibes to all the boldies xxx
  • Hi ladies,

I'm just popping over from the less than 12 week thread to ask you experienced gals a quick question...

I'm currently 7+5 and have got my 12 week scan on 31st May. That's all fine but I won't get to see the midwife (for the first time) until 29th June when I'll be 16 weeks! We're dying to tell friends and family and need to start making arrangements with work to move back to the UK (currently in Australia) and I'm a bit superstitious about waiting before revealing the news, but should I wait until after seeing the midwife?? Or do you think telling people after the scan will be ok?

Seeing the gp on weds, so I'll ask her then too, but just wondered what you all thought?

    Many thanks, bm :)

we told all the important people a few days after we found out. our thinking was if something had of gone wrong it would have been nice to have the support from the beginning, but also i thought if something had gone wrong it would have been a horrible way for family to find out that i had been pregnant. i didn't want that for them.

just my thinking though as i tried not to be superstitious. after all, what will be, will be, telling people or not won't change the outcome. :)

    Hi everyone.

We also told immediate family and my best friends within a week of our BFP. My boss and a few work peeps were told around 9 weeks and word was fully out the day of the scan. Gosh, it seems like a lifetime ago! I was worried about telling people too soon but a combo of excitement and needing help to cover things up (like stopping smoking and drinking huge amounts of fresh coffee and never turning down a glass of vino!) prompted us to tell those we told. Lots of people had said they'd guessed anyway because I had an unusually dry Christmas! Me a wino?!

Well I officially love EBay! I got a delivery of a maternity bundle with 9 bits, all of which fit with room to expand and for £40! I'm so pleased to have more than 3 outfits! And I now have shorts so bring back summer!

Teenie and Nic I hope you get some movement soon. Let's hope Vroom is having mummy cuddles shortly too.

If I'm honest I'm a bit disappointed with DH. He isn't showing as much interest/enthusiasm as I'd hoped. I'm hoping that'll change soon?! Don't get me wrong, he's not against the baby but he isn't spending much time talking names with me and everytime I try to get him interested in "things we need list" he glazes over. Is anyone else having this or is my DH the only one? I think I'm probably feeling a bit vulnerable/hormonal/sensitive.

They are just about all the same... it isn't real to them until a baby person is plonked in their arms.. you are just fat, hormonal and hungry and wanting to spend hundreds of pounds he hasn't got!

OH was dreadful when having Squeak.. we went mooching round m/care and we saw a bedding set which he really liked.. so I bought it, because I felt he was having no interest in the pregnancy or baby apart from that. He wouldn't discuss names and names haven't been mentioned for this one yet either..

It does pee me off because I want to get stuff sorted before summer holidays hit and I am housebound for the best part of 7 weeks and he doesn't want to go look at pushchairs and cots!

Oh.. and I don't tell anyone.. including OH.. I was 11 weeks before I told him and 13 before I told my mother, though I was 17 last time lol.. It is noones business so I don't feel the need to blab.

Thanks Pigpen. Men! He's doing the dutiful husband bit but it just doesn't feel like his heart is really in it. I have read that blokes tend to be slower to attach and generally have a sudden change at birth but I want it now!

    Sorry for the moan ladies
