Thanks PP and Teenie.don't fancy a 10lber though!

I went for a long walk with the family earlier and a wee while ago I couldn't sit down or get comfy. That's how I felt earlier in the day when DD was born, I feel better now though.
One minute im happy to wait then the next I'm impatient lol.

    Hi ladies!

I Hope Vroom is well on her way to baby cuddles! And I hope things start moving naturally for Tennie and Nic soon.

Welcome BlueMonkey, just do what feels right to you, everyone’s different and it’s a very personal choice.

Congrats Supermaiden and Alwayspuzzeld on starting ML, how exciting!

Doglover, my OH only started to show a bit of interest after the 20wk scan. And when I say a bit, I mean a teeny bit. He’s asked me a few times what I’m going to do with all my “crap”, but hasn’t even blinked at the mention of highchairs, sleeping arrangements, furniture re-organisation, money/going back to work… he protested at taking two weeks paternity leave and sulked at being told he is being dragged to hypnobirthing classes. But he has asked a few times how the bean is getting on (“is it farting yet?”), suggested a few comedy names and rubbed my belly a couple of times before falling asleep. It’s progress. And he has really stepped up his contribution to home-keeping (cleaning, cooking etc) which is brilliant. Every time I get up in the night to pee and he stirs, he grunts “you ok”. I’m convinced he doesn’t even hear the answer, but it’s kinda sweet.

It’s a beautiful day in central Scotland, and I’m a wee bit annoyed I spent the whole morning in an exhibition centre, but boy was it worth it!

I made my first big baby purchases and I’m getting so excited now. I made a list of some of the freebies and deals, so if any of you are thinking of going to the Baby and Toddler Show in Glasgow tomorrow (last day) PM me and I’ll send it to you (it’s too long to post here).

    Hi all,

DogLover I am sure he will come round - my OH has always been supportive but only really 'snapped to' a bit more in week 26 onwards more or less, doing more DIY and focusing a bit more I guess. Each one will be different, same way we ladies are all different...

Leanandgandy the pillow will hopefully help, I started using one between my legs and half of it is under my tummy and it helps I think. I also got a £10 memory foam pillow in Primark, which is good for when I want to sit up and read in bed, imagine it will come in handy for when I am on the sofa like a beached whale too...

Supermaiden that's a bargain - good thing you did go in! We went to the £0.99 store for some bits and had a lovely healthy lunch in town, plus was sunny so mooched a bit.

How are we going to cope when this heat is daily, walking is far too painful, and we're bored as we're on ML? Aaagh...

  • Afternoon ladies! Hope everyone has the nice weather we have today!
Well, i'm really sorry, but i think i'm about to do a bit of a queue jump
I *think* (99% sure) that my waters went about 1 1/2 hours ago-felt a couple of 'trickles' that every time i stood up trickled a bit more-it's now small 'gushes' rather than trickles, and i'm getting pains about every 8-9mins (nothing I can't handle though!)
I rang the hospital and they said to give it till 9pm and if it's still trickling out to give them a ring back-but i'm fairly sure this is it though.
Have rung in laws to come and look after the kids-typically fil is out so mil said she'd wait for him to get back and take things from there-although they're a 3 hour drive away  But at least 9pm isn't too late if i need to call on a friend or the babysitter!
Quite funny-dh is in a bit of a flap, tidying up-if i'd known this would make him get the hoover out i'd have done it sooner :rotfl:

anyway i'm sure i will be on and off here for the rest of the afternoon/evening!

Labour vibes to all who want them!!! x

I always have said this will be a May baby I was just hoping so much for bubs to be here by now. I have always had the 3rd May in my head but that's the day before induction so not so sure now!

I read somewhere the other day that you can go through the 9 months carrying your baby and more often than not feeling fed up at some point, but there is nothing like the last week or 2 (especially if you are overdue!!) it feels like you are doing the whole 9 months again in the space of a week or so.......that is sooooo true!

    All the best M&M!

  • I've always been convinced this would be an april baby, and dh had predicted 29th april since the begining, so he's not far off!! even though i'll only be 37 weeks tomorrow!

aww, just got a bit emotional saying goodnight to ds 2 :( although he was more excited that nanny and grandad would be here in the morning  lol

Abby glad to hear you have done so well with transport items! :D

With clothes there will be a few deciding factors like whether your baby is sick quite a lot or not.....my oldest one was and the recommended 6 sleep suits and 6 vests was nothing short of comedy. :rotfl: you need to consider things like how quick your washing machine is and how quickly things dry in your house especially on rainy days as we get more than our fair share of it here. :o. But the 3 packs from supermarkets are great value and if you overbuy they never have problems letting you take back the sealed packets and swapping them for bigger sizes. :D. Also remember that friends and family will buy clothes too as gifts. :D

    Good luck with your exam!

Well we've been given (well my mother has been given) a couple of bags, a lot of it is useless, I probably have about 10 body suits all newborn or 3+months. But I did see Asda do packs of 3 for a couple of quid! Bargain!

Wow Abbey I can't believe you're practically in the third trimester! Congrats and best of luck for your exam

Ta! I've got 2 and a half hours of sitting on a lovely uncomfortable seat. But at least I get a room to myself. I'd feel very self concious in one of the university halls and also I'd have to get a bus there. Never been to where they hold the exams, I get to go to the administration building in Leeds city centre....

Abby good luck for your exam and well done on the moneysaving! I'm collecting a car seat from my bro this weekend too, think though we will only be able to use it when we get a more modern car but hey ho it can live in the attic for now! I am 28 weeks Monday so can relate on that side...In terms of clothes, I only have 4 or 5 things we have bought and the rest are what has been given to us. Might get some baby grows and sleep suits but that's it for now. I bought some of the items at a boot fair for £0.20p each - very happy, so keep your eyes peeled!

Well I've also now found out that my 8 year old sister (yes large age gap!) has a best friend whos mum has offered some bits and bobs. So I will be getting another buggy. This one is lightweight which will be useful when travelling to my mums. Then the mamas and papas will be good for traipsing around university!
    Money money money.
