aww, just got a bit emotional saying goodnight to ds 2although he was more excited that nanny and grandad would be here in the morning  lol
Congratulations M&M hope it all goes smoothly for you, ds1 was born at 37 wks I'm hoping this one will be too although its got to hang on till next thur because the LOVELY midwife led unit I've just viewed won't let me use it till I'm exactly 37 wks. If anyone else has the option I'd definately recommend investigating MW units as I'm am truely amazed as to the difference from the local labour ward that I've used for my 3.0 -
Been trying to catch up as had a really busy day and haven't had time to read before now
Madness hope everything is going well for you and you have your beautiful new baby next time you post.
Doglover my OH is the same but tbh I think a big part of it (that he would never ever admit to!) is fear about the unknown even though we have other children and have been through it all before. I know he loves this baby with all of his heart as he does the others but he finds it harder to express his emotions and so choses to say nothing for fear of saying the wrong thing. However I did get an excited positive response from him today when baby monitor was delivered....being a shiny electrical gadget he was on safe ground with it. :rotfl: He has also told me that in a way he is terrified of new babies as they are so small and fragile and is terrified that he could do something the wrong way and hurt them
Abby I am sorry but I have absolutely no idea what a planned labour is.0 -
Doglover: My OH has only just started to bond with bump- stroking/ kissing it a few times over past couple of weeks and he spent time making a list of names he likes last night- I've been pestering him to talk names for months. I think pregnancy can take longer to seemreal for the men- they don't have to suffer the symptoms. I've told my OH he's having the next one!
Been having loads of Braxton Hicks contractions since yesterday. Before that I had a few but didn't know what they were.
Because I was put on fetal monitoring after my fall on Thursday and that picks up on uterine activity- I now know that what I thought was the baby stretching up into my ribs with its bum and pressing down with its head is actually a contraction of my uterus. Poor baby getting the blame:o.
Anyway there's been loads today, and they're worrying me a bit. Firstly both me and my mum independantly predicted ages ago that the baby would be 2-3 weeks early (I'm 37 weeks today). Secondly, I've still not finished stupid form for work (redundancy skills audit) Thirdly with one fractured wrist and the other one still sore (mild sprain?) I really don't want baby here yet- be a nightmare trying to hold him/her and get to grips with breastfeeding/ nappy changes etc. Also work on the house not quite finished- can't really get it clean until work is finshed- not that I can do cleaning .
Stay put baby!!!! Please xxxx
Sorry for the moan- I'm just stressing- anyone else able to tell me that loads of tightenings are normal please do.

Sorry Fluffysox I can't help you with your question about contractions as I have never had any ever.
. One thing I can tell you though is your hospital won't discharge you without a care/support package having been put in place to help you with your current situation.....at least that is how it works here anyway and Id imagine your area will be similar

fluffy... stop fretting.. if it does't get done then it doesn't get done.. it'll be there next week.. you can't change what will happen. Stress increases uterine activity, BH's or otherwise so stop right now.. go get a bath.. with your plaster in a plastic bag... and go to bed.. you are use to man nor beast in a flap! It is usual to get runs of bh's.. if they ease overnight or in the bath all is ok..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Congratulations M&M fab news. Well done on just G&a :T
I'm having contractions every 4 mins they are lasting 35 seconds and getting slowly more painful. I've taken paracetemol and have the water on for a bath.
I'm feeling all fidgety and angsty.
I'm just worried about when to leave for the hospital. With DS I lived 2 mins away and went in at 10cm and had him within the hour of leaving the house.
This time the hospital is an hour away!
Will try and update later to see if things progress or slow down.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Wow congrats madnessandmayhem!! Well done for only having gas and air! Look forward to the piccies!
Nic best wishes for a smooth labour! Dont leave it too late to get to hosp!! Really looking forward to hearing from you later!
Thanks everyone for letting me know my DH isn't on his own. I probably seem a bit harsh on him, esp as he has been great with DIYing in prep and taking on more household chores but I want some sensitive love and interest in my bump!! Looks like that may follow soon if he follows the path of others.
Well I've just munched through 2 hot cross buns, yum! I better think about dragging my backside off to walk the hound. If it wasn't for him I don't think I'd do any exercise!
Have a good day x0 -
Sorry, forgot to add STAY PUT BABY FLUFFY!0
