Congrats IceIce and I do hope Vroom gets to see the wedding and then bubs decides later today to make preparations to arrive! Labour vibes to boldies...

DogLover hi and glad to see ya here again!

Feeling really quite carp today, woke up with some nausea and sneezing too. Typical on a day off!
Plus this week every day my feet have been swollen at the end of the day.

Any thoughts on best baby monitor?

Also I plan to BF, should I leave the bottles/steriliser decisions until later?

    Thanks ladies x

Good morning everybody hope you are all having a lovely day. :D

Teenie glad you are feeling a bit better and the antibiotics are working :)

Vroom hope you get to see all of the wedding and your little guy waits to it is finished to make his entrance into the world :)

Doglover glad the training is going well :). I have a neighbor with terribly behaved dogs if your husband could be persuaded to come and train those too please? :D

Sparkle it may be worth looking in Asda at what they have in their baby event so that even if you don't buy anything you will have a good idea of what is available should you decide you need bottles and such likes at a later stage as they do their baby events very regularly from what I remember :)

Hope Nic is doing well and maybe even has had her little one before her mum goes home. :)

Digital hope you are feeling a bit better today :)

Sparkle what are you looking for your baby monitor to be able to do? Do you want just sound or video link or heartbeat monitor? Mumsnet usually have a few interesting discussions running on what features people have found they actually use and what monitors are better if you are unsure of what you actually need. :D

I bought the The tommee tip pee digital one with under mattress monitor from amazon for £64.00 which I know is quite a lot but I am bit neurotic and with both of my boys having been preterm I really like the extra reassurance that it gives. I had the angel care one with my youngest son which did the job fine but I was not a great fan of but I know many people liked that one. :o

Boots are including monitors in their 3 for 2 event so if you have a few other big things left to get then it may be worth looking in there too but if not amazon is usually best for prices

I'm 28 weeks pregnant next tuesday. ARGH 3RD TRIMESTEEERRRRRR

How lovely that at 29 weeks pregnant I will be taking my one and only university exam for the year. I have a busy week, I have till 9th may to revise, and write two essays as well. ARGH

On the plus side at my parents in Kendal, a lady dropped off a Mamas and Papas Prima Viaggio car seat that we think is maybe a year old. Thats about £250 including the base? Moneysaving! And I have a couple dropping off a travel system, mamas and pappas again, on Monday.

Any idea how many baby clothes I need to collect?
    Money money money.

Abby glad to hear you have done so well with transport items! :D

With clothes there will be a few deciding factors like whether your baby is sick quite a lot or not.....my oldest one was and the recommended 6 sleep suits and 6 vests was nothing short of comedy. :rotfl: you need to consider things like how quick your washing machine is and how quickly things dry in your house especially on rainy days as we get more than our fair share of it here. :o. But the 3 packs from supermarkets are great value and if you overbuy they never have problems letting you take back the sealed packets and swapping them for bigger sizes. :D. Also remember that friends and family will buy clothes too as gifts. :D

    Good luck with your exam!

Not read back but will spend my weekend catching up I promise. Ive been MIA for about 2 weeks I think :o BUT im fine and baby is fine , just been busy training my new start. Its so draining and making me hate my job so Ive decided to leave early.Cant really afford to but its not worth being miserable. Im 31 weeks  Time is just flying !! Had three out of 4 ante natal classes and they have been fab. Made some mummy friends and just had a good laugh.Getting my cot and baby furniture at the weekend and then hoping to get everything out of mums loft to see what I still need , lol. My bump is still tiny but midwife assures me that everything is fine. Feel really well and healthy and finally have the "glow" Hope everyone is well !!!!! Will catch up tonight

Glad all is going well Lablover aside from feeling you need to leave work early that is! If you are struggling physically with work at all your GP will sign you off sick to minimize risk to your baby which will give you a few extra weeks before starting mat leave if that helps any?

It is good that your bump is small as it means that you have strong stomach muscles which I have been told helps a lot with delivery and getting back to normal size afterwards. :D. I know it definitely helps with returning to normal shape but both my boys were delivered by c section so don't know about the delivery aspect :o

Thanks koala , everyone I meet in the street has an opinion on my bump , lol. I'll apparantly balloon out when I get to eight months , or Im having the smallest baby ever, or Im all just baby and no fat and Im actually having a massive baby. Lol I didnt realise that a bump caused so much fascination. I hope it does mean my stomach muscles are strong , could do with them just pinging back after the birth.
Its not the physical aspect of my job , so dont think I could get signed off ,I do an office based job. I actually feel really fit and healthy , its just the new girl is really bringing me down and I feel like a spare part. Leaving the second week in June so dont have long left now.Yay !!!

Abby good luck for your exam and well done on the moneysaving! I'm collecting a car seat from my bro this weekend too, think though we will only be able to use it when we get a more modern car but hey ho it can live in the attic for now! I am 28 weeks Monday so can relate on that side...In terms of clothes, I only have 4 or 5 things we have bought and the rest are what has been given to us. Might get some baby grows and sleep suits but that's it for now. I bought some of the items at a boot fair for £0.20p each - very happy, so keep your eyes peeled!

Koala thanks for the advice - I think I would like a digital monitor but not a video one, just sound is fine... I think! The BT 150 looks good so am considering that one and looking for others that may be as well reviewed to compare...

LabLover I know what you mean on both counts 1) my belly is small and I swear of one more person says 'oooh you're quite small aren't you' I will expolode... midwife says I am growing at the right rate which is what matters, plus I feel fine (apart from today, a bit nauseous but prob because my third trimester starts next week at 28 weeks).
I exercised and ate well etc when preparing to get pregnant and have tried to continue this as best I can, so I like to stick with Koala's comment that it means my ab muscles are good! Plus it's my first which prob has a lot to do with it.

My antenatal classes start week after next, will be weird but looking forward to it!

Secondly, have started training my replacement too - she's not tooo000ooo bad but I can imaging over the coming 8 weeks things getting perhaps harder if she is OTT, or, can't handle things as Summer is so busy in my line of work! I don't think there will be any issues but the concern is always there until you get to know someone properly. The good thing is I hired her myself and feel confident of her abilities. So try not to think about it too much, focus on countine down the days and your happiness is more important than the cash so I hope all goes ok for you.

    [Back to the wedding celebrations!]
