  • I had my GTT today & unfortunately it looks like I have Diabetes. :(

I won't get the official results until Wednesday but the nurse did a pin !!!!! test before & after which showed that the sugar levels were really high. :o

As she runs the Diabetes clinic she knows alot about it & thinks that I was at high risk anyway due to my Grandad having it.

She gave me a diet booklet & showed me the needles etc which were alot smaller than I though but i'm still devastated.

I'm hoping that it is just Gestational Diabetes & that if I change my diet now that my levels will go back to normal by the time the baby is born.

Has anyone else ever had Gestational Diabetes?
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Great news little angel. Was it your OH who wouldnt let you buy anything before scan? If so, sounds like you're making up for it!

i've been buying stuff since i was 8 weeks, just little bits like sleep suits, but i didn't want to get the 'big' stuff until after this scan :D think we'll be getting the crib and mattress next :o

ddebski_us - i'll try and put a piccie up either later today or tomorrow, my brain isn't working well at the mo :o we went for the mothercare my3 in black. it, hopefully suits all our needs, i wanted something that could be a pram and parent as well as forward facing, tis important to me to have it parent facing. we also wanted a 3 wheeler as we do a lot of walking in various conditions with our very energetic labrador :D

mrsspendalot don't even talk to me about work. For the last 3 months my wages haven't been paid on time - including today, so long weekend with no blooming wages! It's stressing me out now as to what is going to happen when Im off on ML as I have to moan for days now until I get paid! I will never work for a family business again!

vroombroom sounds like you are really getting ready now - hope baby comes soon for you!

Im so tired, I have loads of food here but all I want to eat is a takeaway curry, just need to persuade OH who doesn't really like curry (doesn't he know it's all about me?)

The whole street is really getting in the spirit for this wedding tomorrow. Bunting and flags all over the place, street party starts at 10am! Im normally anti social but providing the sun stays out I may join the festivities!

That doesn't work.. I missed 2 weddings.. one when DS1 arrived.. and 1 when DD2 arrived.. but these were proper weddings with real people.

2 really good friends are getting married (to eachother) at the end of my due date week. I've been waiting YEARS for them to set a date. I'm desperate not to miss it but guess that's a sure way to make sure I'm in labour that day.
