Just a little rant...
My dad found a set of drawers on a website which originally my gran was going to buy but changed her mind as she found something else. My dad then offered me the opportuinity to buy them and he and my husband went to get them yesterday. The person selling them wasnt in and on calling was miles away so said come back tomorrow (today). They now have been told that it HAS to be before 5pm.. problem is my husband is on a driving lesson until after 4 and they have to travel 30 miles to get there. I know husband is most likely going to say hes not rushing as he has been at work and up since 4:30am and hasnt had any tea or something to drink before he went on his lesson. So looks like it will be back to the drawing boardHoping husband will still go through lol but I have to be at work for half 5! So all a bit of a rush really!
Rant over
On another note, its my last day at work for over a year!:j0 -

MrsS.. they send my bloods to Newcastle. Isn't there a SCBU closer? We have a really good one here.. shame it is the crappiest hospital in the world and there are no facilities for parents to stay with babies which is ridiculous! I have no idea what my AB levels are either but I am sure all is fine.. not much I can do if it isn't so I'm not in the slightest worried. What were the levels when they last did the bloods? Have they offered a scan to check baby? enlarged heart, spleen or liver or excessive fluid in baby could show there is the start of a problem.
Mine have gone to Leeds. That is the nearest specialist place to me as far as I know - and it has a fetal medicine unit which deals with this type of thing, so that is where I'm expecting to be sent if I need any follow up appointments etc. It's about 65 miles away from where I live. Our hospital does have a very small SCBU but they won't even entertain premmie babies in it - premmies have to go to Leeds General or James Cook (Middlesbrough). If the baby isn't anaemic or suffering badly, then I dare say they could let me have him here at term. If there are any problems, I am expecting to have to go through to Leeds.
The levels 2 weeks ago were 4.2. I haven't been offered any further tests, scans, consultation, nothing. I was just told that I had antibodies in my blood, they had sent my sample to Leeds for a full report, and that the baby would likely suffer with jaundice afterwards. That was it.
I'm trying not to flap, honestly!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

I hope everything is ok Mrs Spendalot - not sure what the levels were in my blood (will check maternity notes when I get home) but I was told beforehand I would likely have antibodies from so many anti d jabs after the bleeding so I wasn't particularly surprised at that.
As you say what is the point in giving the anti d if they can't tell which antibodies are produced from having the jab and which you are producing yourself? - try not to worry x0 -

the Leeds transfusion service stopped doing the detailed bloods.. they do routine screening still and have the blood stock but they send the ones needing in depth looking at to Newcastle where they have just got the new machiner to check and count.. that is probably why it is taking longer.. usually adds a week on to normal bloods.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
afternoon ladies!
first of all congratulations to those who've had their little bundles - sorry not read back properly. and huge vibes to the boldies!
had my scan on tuesday, i was sooo nervous they would find something wrong with the little wriggler, but all is finethe baby wouldn't stop moving, making it really difficult for the sonographer to get all the measurments :rotfl:she kept saying "oh, stop moving baby!"
it was amazing, you could see everything so clearly, the baby had hiccups and we could see it opening and closing it's mouth
although we decided to stay team yellow, i was trying really hard to see if i could tell what it was, but nope, i couldn't see, so team yellow all the way now.
to celebrate we went and ordered our pram and car seat, we managed to save nearly £100 with various offers! i got all the sheets for the crib, which should have come to £35 but i went armed with various vouchers, so saved £25 :T then on to boots where i claimed my free changing bag with a pack of nappies - the bag doesn't seem very big though?
so all in all a great day, which i'm still shattered from0 -

Ohthat's interesting then, and could explain the delay. Would just be so nice to have some clear answers. I'm sure I'll feel fine once someone has spoken to me!

Apparently, Leeds do the bloods and identify what is present but they don't count quantities so the sample is sent off to Newcastle.
I was contacted by one of the lab people from Leeds about mine and I asked
I am greedy I had 5 different lots of ab's but only 2 are dangerous to a foetusI doubt they'll be any different with this one than they were with Squeak tbh..

On top of everything else, I'm really annoyed with work.
They haven't done my pay correctly this month. Contacted HR this morning and still no one has got back to me with an answer. Plus, I've had nothing at all to confirm my maternity leave and pay, and it's over a month now since I submitted my MATB1 and notification. I officially start maternity leave a month tomorrow and have no idea what my pay calculation is. I need to know so I can ring tax credits and give them my income estimate for 2011/12 which is going to be much lower than last year because of maternity. Went to log onto my work email to find the contact details for payroll, and they have blocked my email access! Just feel like everything is conspiring against me today.
Oh, and I need a hospital bag - any recommendations??
I sense a large bar of chocolate is needed!!!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
