As you lovely ladies are probably aware my husband finally got home at Easter. :D. We spent ages last night talking and trying to organize our lives for after the birth of our daughter. We decided that due to how much it will cost us having 2 children in a decent nursery and one child in pre/after school care it will just not be worth it for me to go back to work.....only now I am finding my feelings on this a bit confusing! :o.

I have been off sick for the last few months and have try loved it but am starting to wonder if I will feel the same when this is permanent as I do love my job and I have worked very hard to get there :o. It makes far more sense for me to give up work as my husband is by far the higher earner so it is not like the decision was reached at my expense.

Not really sure what the point of my post is......I think I am hoping that somebody else will have been in the same position and found that leaving work turned out for the best :o

Congratulations ice. It sounds traumatic but you made it through. Allow yourself time to recover.

    Yay for V day Doglover.

Ddebski - After talking about it here yesterday, last night I overcame my fear of buying baby things and bought the TT microwave steriliser from asda. I want to BF but would like to express and give bottles too. Can't be faffing around with tablets r boiling and I've chosen the TT closer to nature bottles so this seemed a good buy to me. Obviously haven't tested it yet!

Anyone have any thoughts on the tommee tippee electric pump? It gets mixed reviews. My head says I should wait and buy a pump when I actually need it.

**please skip this post as it is complete woe-is-me**

still nothing, no twinges. Nothing. Sweep almost 24 hours ago. I have been awake for since 4:45 and all I have done is whinge whinge whinge. I am thoroughly fed up and in a lot of pain.

I think there is a point to your post koala. I can see that it's confusing. I always thought I'd be a stay at home
Mum but now the time is approaching I'm not so sure. Of course, when I'm on maternity leave I may change my mind again. Just feeling confused about giving up my job as it's taken a long time to get here. I use my brain a lot and I wouldn't want to lose the skills. It has also defined who I am as has taken up a good deal of my life so far. Can't offer any advice but just wanted to say I can see why you're unnerved.

Did you say you're getting boori furniture? It looks so gorgeous but husband is being a tightwad and wants to buy second hand. It looks like proper furniture to me which I like as I'm so fed up of flimsy chipboard carp.

Just popping on to say happy due date to Nic and hope everything goes well today Charlie

Hope things get moving soon Teenie and VB and all other over due ladies.

So I am 39+2 now and now first on the list after the boldies  Been having some period type cramps, pains in foof, back ache etc but no real signs I am going to be queue jumping.

Totally fed up now. On top of the SPD I also have huuuuge swollen feet and legs, never realised they could be so uncomfortable/sore. I have been keeping my feet up and drinking plenty, but the fatties are there all day and even in the morning.

MW last week went well - bubs is 2/5 engaged, BP, wee etc all fine. Got MW again today. She's coming out to me. It's a different one as my usual one is off this week, and funnily enough it's one of the ladies from my antenatal class!

Feel a bit odd today so just going to lurk I reckon. Can't be bothered to do much :o

Hope everyone is well and bumps growing well x

I have the TT electric pump. Only downside is its a bit noisy other than that I'm finding it fine

Thank you Twilight I am glad that I don't come across as completely deranged! I love what I do and sad do that I am my job gives me a sense of fulfillment and I enjoy going to work. :o. I know that like everything else I will find positives and make the most of being at home but I also feel in a way that I am giving up part of me and what makes me who I am.

I got the Boori furniture as it is pretty tough and does last the duration especially if you have a more boisterous child like my youngest son. We had a disaster with his previous cotbed. He did not like it and so kicked the footboard of it as hard as he could for a few nights when he woke up except less than a week after he started doing this the screws holding the footboard in place ripped out the footboard fell off at the height his mattress was and collapsed onto the floor. I can really see the funny side now but I think I lost at least 10 years off of my life expectancy that night! :rotfl:

We replaced that one with a boori cot which proved itself indestructible despite his best efforts! We would still have it now to reuse except we moved house in early stages of pregnancy after I had had some bleeding so I was sent away for the day while husband and friends did it.....big mistake on my part! :rotfl: instead of fully dismantling the cot they decided to move it all in piece to save time.....they got it completely wedged in his bedroom doorway and could not move it. Eventually they took an axe to it so that my husbands friend could get out of the bedroom! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

They are squeezed out of your foof.. c section babies are dragged out and lifted out by their head.. Forceps and ventouse babies have it even worse.. unless you put the baby in the tumble dryer you are not going to break it! Believe me, if they were breakable, I'd have none left!!!!

*makes mental note not to put baby in tumble dryer* :rotfl:

I'm off to the Asda Baby Event tonight. Thinking of getting a steriliser (Tomme Tippee any good?), some sheets, blankets, nappies, sleepsuits and toiletries I think. (No doubt some other bits and bobs will "fall" into my trolley!)

I have the Tommee Tippee steriliser, I think that's what most people use & you get a free bottle & dummy with it. OH went to Asda last night and bought a play gym for baby - he is quite sweet sometimes :D

Have you done the Nuby scan pic on facebook? http://www.facebook.com/#!/nubyuk Everyone who enters gets a free breast pump or steriliser, I got this one but some people have gotten a free electric one, it's all just luck of the draw but doesn't cost anything so worth a go.

Hope Charlie is having mummy cuddles by now!

Massive labour vibes to those who want them - hoping for some announcements today please!:D
