Thanks for all replies ... she gave me a moses basket, some toys and a huge bag of clothes. She made it quite clear she didn't want any of it back, and made it quite clear if I didn't like any of it I could just get rid of it. I think I will probably ask her once the baby comes if she wants any of it back once I've finished with it, and if she still says no just get rid of it, I will probably just sell it with my own baby stuff that is no longer needed.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

GRRRRRR.......so wound up tonight that i'm gonna tell dh to get take away on his way home from work cos i cant be bothered to cook anything!!
had the world and his wife knock at my door today-first some bloke from the council going on about homeowners getting grants for insulation etc (this while i had visitors!) then some woman collecting for deaf children (I said no, does this make me a bad person?? I do give to charity but HATE being pestered in my own home!), then a parcel delivery for dh (this not so bad as i was expecting this and it's his new phone so i get his old one which is soooo much better than mine lol), Then i had a phone call from someone who said his name was 'justin' but was obviously not calling from England (he had an accent and the caller id said international!!) for one of those lifestyle survey things. then when i got back from school run, the deaf children lady knocked AGAIN, then 10 mins ago a bloke from the census office knocked to say they hadn't recieved my form back (which was sent over 2 weeks ago-which i told the lady that knocked yesterday and the bloke last week) grrr :mad::mad:
It just wound me up, as the dog has been a pain lately, barking when anyone knocks at the door (think, he thinks he's protecting us!!) so everytime it has sent him loopy, and made me get up!!!
Do you think it's possible to get a sign that says 'Beware of the VERY hormonal, stroppy, snappy, grumpy, moody pregnant woman'??!! :rotfl:
There, feel much better now!!
Sorry for the rant ladies!!
Charlie, hope all goes well for you tomorrow-how exciting that this time tomorrow you will be having mummy cuddles!! xx0 -

We have our 25 week appointment coming up and presumably that's when we'll get our form for work? Will they give us two? DH's work need one too for his paternity leave but obviously my work needs one. Does anyone know?
What should I expect after this next appointment? Are there any other appointments or scans? It's baby number 1 and so far all tests and scans have been fine.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble but I can't contain my excitement, especially now I've reached my "V" day!
Congratulations on reaching viability Doglover! I had wondered where you disappeared to!
My MW just gave me one Matb1 form at my 25 week appointment - I hadn't thought about one for OH....
My next appointment with MW is 28 weeks and after that 32 weeks and every two weeks from then. No more scans for me unless they are worried about baby's size.
Good luck for tomorrow Charlie and :rotfl: for 4 showers! Come back with pics for us won't you!
I started putting a few things in baby's drawers tonight - only little socks and mittens but OMG they are teeny - can't believe Im going to have a baby that small - I might break her!
Hope everyone is good & labour vibes to the boldies!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Hi everyone, I have been a mute lurker for a fair while now after my initial hi. I've been waiting to be a bit further along before posting again and today I have reached 24 weeks! Yay!! :T I feel like I can really post now!
I'm quite a control freak so I like being organised but I would like to save some things to do for mat leave. It looks like I'll be off about 3 1/2 weeks before my EDD but I know I may need that time as it'll be July/Aug and potentially very hot.
Now on maternity leave with 3 weeks to go with hindsight I wouldn't leave anything other than non-essential shopping until this point. I'd concentrated on work- particularly getting my exam classes to the end of the GCSE and A-level courses. Now I find myself too tired and uncomfortable to spend long at shops or to do the tidying and cleaning my instincts want me to do.

I had to remember to ask my midwife for the MAT B1 form- it wasn't offered to me. Usually you take a photocopy for your OH's employers before giving the original to your own- this is what we did but my OH not entitled to pat leave since he'll only have been working there 6 months rather than the required 41 weeks before due date.
What should I expect after this next appointment? Are there any other appointments or scans? It's baby number 1 and so far all tests and scans have been fine.
Usually no more scans but appointments every 2-3 weeks with midwife to check urine/ bloods/ measure bump and listen to baby's heartbeart.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble but I can't contain my excitement, especially now I've reached my "V" day! Congratulations! :beer:mrsspendalot wrote: »Question: if a friend gave you a large bag of baby clothes and said "get rid of anything you don't like or want", would you say it would be ok to ebay it if you don't want it?I've had a look through and taken out the stuff that I like and would use, but some of the stuff isn't my taste
If she said get rid of what you don't want, how you do that is up to you- don't worry about it. If you want to use ebay proceeds to buy something you need or to buy a thank you gift for your friend or her children again that's up to you.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

They are squeezed out of your foof.. c section babies are dragged out and lifted out by their head.. Forceps and ventouse babies have it even worse.. unless you put the baby in the tumble dryer you are not going to break it! I've had a c section baby and a forceps baby, and they both survived that!!!! as I told my friend who didnt let her 18 month old do anything in case he hurt himself (and I mean riding a trike in garden sort of thing etc!) children are built to last!!!!.............Most of the time they just seem to 'bounce'....mine have both 'bounced' quite a few times and we've never had to visit A & E (not yet anyway!!).......sorry slightly off topic, but it is 7am lol0 -
Good morning ladies
Brilliant 3 day working week - and it's the Royal Wedding tomorrow - I am soooooooooo excited!!! I love a good wedding.
Charlie - all the best for today - I can't wait to see your little one!
Vroom - hope the curry did it's job and baby has decided to come and meet mummy.
Teenie - how you doing today?
Doglover - congrats on viability!! :j I did wonder where you'd got to!Sounds like you're really organised - I'm a bit like you, wanting to get it all sorted now but then worrying I'll be bored when I finish work 2 weeks before due day.
I'm off to the Asda Baby Event tonight. Thinking of getting a steriliser (Tomme Tippee any good?), some sheets, blankets, nappies, sleepsuits and toiletries I think. (No doubt some other bits and bobs will "fall" into my trolley!)
xDxFear is temporary, regret is forever.....:happyhear Baby girl born 27th September - 10 days late!! :happyhear0 -
