I got some white linen mat trousers from peacocks and they were good.
Their maternity t shirts are awful though don't buy those unless youre 4ft tall :rotfl: they seemed to lose all their length in the wash, and ride up throughout the day and I'd end up looking like I had a beer belly rather than a baby oneMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

My sister is also pg at the mo and our mum e-mailed both of us about a month ago about names. Apparently she doesn't want us to call our children names which can also be surnames so Carter, Fletcher etc and in particular she has a major dislike of Dean!!!!
I've told her we really like Tyrone :rotfl:I actually don't think she will like the name we've chosen but I don't care one little bit. It'll be harder for her to argue it once he's here.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -

I've met a few Deans and they've all been prats so I see where she is coming fromBit cheeky though to try and tell you what to do
I know a Tyrone as well, he's in his early 20's now but was always a hellraiser from toddlerhood up :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Another day visiting the oldest baby on maternity at the moment
First thing, Nicola calls, the doctor has said that she has to stay in for another night. Good god, what is going on, so on arrival I ask the midwife why? She checks her chart, oh no, she can go today, her blood pressure is fine. It got high late yesterday as we sat and waited towards the end of the day for her to be sent home, I wonder why?! She wants to be at home.
...
I'm getting so annoyed now, how long can they drag this out for? Baby looks fine and is passing every physical test but can't pass a blood test as they won't take enough blood. The wife is stressed as I leave and when I arrive and is taking it out on me, I can't help her apart from badgering the midwife team to try and chase the results but they won't do it. They just ignore each request to check for the results.
I'm just reading back after being away. Apologies for not responding to all the other posts, but this one really made me jump to the computer and log on.
Keith I am getting so angry for you and I really hope you have made it home. I don't know what it is about hospitals, but once you're in it's like breaking out of prison. We had the same crap when my dad was in hospital - delays delays delays, felt like everyone just forgot we were there, even though we kept asking for updates and reminding them that he wanted to die at home. Only once we found the MacMillan nurse did she manage to get things moving, and by then it was too late and he did die in hospital all alone.
Just keep at them and make a pest of yourself, I know they're busy people, but all you want is to go home with your family and that really isn't so much to ask.0 -

I'm not a particular fan of surnames as first names either but I know they're fairly popular at the moment and can see the appeal for some.
 I'm completely outraged that some of you have relatives telling what you should and shouldn't call YOUR baby. I'd be absolutely fuming if anyone said anything to me on the subject. Fortunately my mum knows better (ie that I'd tell her where to go) and my MIL is too polite. Not sure about FIL and a bit worried about husband's gran but I'm quite good at letting some things wash over me. Maybe I just haven't experienced it yet and once they all know B is a boy I'll have it all to come...0 -
To be fair my mum is mad as a box of frogs so me and my sis have learnt to just laugh it off and do our own thing. OH was pretty mad tho!Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0

Ha ha Claire, love that expression 'Mad as a box of Frogs', I think you have made my day as have never heard that before and it's brilliant...
JoJo your advice here is much needed, please don't feel you need to go anywhere!
Winnie glad you got to hear the heartbeat and the appointment went well.
Bella hope your little one is ok, poor thing, must be so worrying for you so keep us posted we're thinking of you.
Managed to get a cream top earlier with a few buttons down from the neckline for £1 which will do for breastfeeding and is stretchy so I can wear is now anyway too. Was quite pleased with that as it's the only physical cash I spent all day (not counting debit card for essentials...).
Apricot to show you how I'm trailing behind, I can still wear my normal linen trousers, will do for a few more weeks anyway hopefully I will then wear my jersey dresses and not have to buy anymore mat clothes. So far have bought a pair of jeans and that's it giving up hope of anyone actually noticing my tummy.
BUT
Have to say yesterday a lady cashier in Homebase made my day as she noticed I was pregnant! It's my first 'stranger' noticing, which is great and I was so chuffed...:):)

Well I'm now 35 weeks and last week was the 1st time anyone noticed without being told:rotfl:This week I think they'd have to be blind not to notice - my bump seems massive all of a sudden:eek::eek:. I'm still wearing my normal jeans they all seem to fit perfectly as under the bump style - probably helped by the fact that despite fundal height being at 85% and therefore a big baby my own weight is the exact same as when ttc.
I finished work today:j, was meant to be next Fri but I'm really struggling driving for hours and rolling ceilings etc in the heat. I'm really glad to have finished but at the same time I'm a bit sad too as I do enjoy my job.0 -
My 28 week bloods show i'm anemic which means i've got to take iron tablets now.
If you find you get side effects from the iron tabs, buy Spatone. You mix it with fruit juice and you dont get any side effects
It tastes a bit metal-y but some mouthwash sorts it out
I got a 2 week pack from Wilkinsons for £4.10
I have to get my Iron Levels up to 10.5 (currently 10.2) otherwise i cant go to the midwifery led unit.
Cant belive im 37wks Saturday :j
And my sweep is in 10 days! :j:j:j0
