Oh no keith. How frustrating for you both. What are the rules on discharging yourself? Or do the doctors have to discharge the baby.0
-
Two options:-
1. We stay and the doctors then sign off both Mum & Baby as self discharged and no liability for the hospital for anything that follows.
2. We walk out.
The bank holiday could be a problem as I guess it means that we'd not get a prescription from the hospital for the medication she is on.
Baby hasn't seen the baby doctor since yesterday morning when he took the final successful blood test.
The hospital staff were summed up last night, a lady on the ward was buzzing for help, she had a C section on Tuesday. Her baby was crying and she needed the toilet. No one came, Nicola heard her crying and took her to the loo whilst handing her the baby. The "changeover" includes a handover period that takes place in the sitting room where the midwife team can't hear the buzzers!0 -
Being nosey
A suggestion concerning interfering relatives over names when I was pregnant with my daughter DH and I came up with a list of 3 names for each sex and one of the names were the chosen ones, so they could give their opinion without causing offence IYKWIM.
As it was everyone loved our chosen girls name, which was not expected at all.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Hey everyone thanks for your thought:) well DS is home, we took him for the antibiotics last night and they took the canula out
he seems fine just a little tired (me too!!) it was a bit overwhelming and I still feel a bit numb with it all IYKWIM, its weird hes never been in hospital before or had anything remotely concerning it has seriously made me consider what is important and worth worrying about in life.
Hope things get moving for you vroom and benson, and the other boldies
back to work tomorrowreally not in the mood for it to be honest, need to get my annual leave finalised. The way i'm trying to work mine is just book week days off rather than weekends (i work all weekend every weekend) as we get more for working weekends therefore my maternity pay will be higher, but they have said cant have any holidays in august as it is fully booked, I responded with I will go on maternity leave end of july then lol they dont seem to understand I need to take the days before I go! I have been asking them for a few months if we can get it sorted but I just get fobbed off, rant over!!! lol

Morning all.
Glad your DS is ok bella. It's horrible when your kids are in hospital, you feel so helpless.
Keith.fingers crossed your wife gets out today. My bp would be through the roof having to stay in hospital too. Hopefully the can't let her home and let the visiting midwives monitor her.
Hope your feeling better Charlie.x
Come on baby vroom and Benson. I don't Know how I'll feel next week if I go over. Im ready now.
I'm going to have a nice relaxing day on my lounger in the garden with the kids. My oh is off but has work to do.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Good morning everybody!
Bella I did not see your post yesterday about your son sorry about what happened and how frightening it was.
Keith have you considered registering a complaint even an informal one at the hospital as it should get things moving for your family? Sorry I have never been a midwife so not entirely sure how the hierarchy works in that field but I know from my own work as a nurse that families who approach the clinical nurse manager for intervention tend not to get fibbed off and get proper answers to their questions and action taken quickly to remedy their problem. I am not sure what the equivalent persons job title would be in your hospital but am pretty sure they will have one that you can insist on speaking to.
All ladies who are ready to meet their babies hope you get your wish over the Easter weekend!0 -
Morning ladies
What a beautiful day today!! Can't believe I'm going bold tomorrow but hey ho baby will come eventually and in 2 weeks time he/she will definately be here one way or another!
Still having lots of tightenings and started to get some back pain yesterday but nothing much else happening. Hips are getting better at night though as is the hearburn so at least I'm starting to sleep better!
Right need to get bum into gear and get showered and dressed bits and pieces to do today so better get cracking.
Appropriate labour vibes all round!:)"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
