Sorry you are having such a poor experience with your midwife Kira
. I think a few people have mentioned that they are receiving a similarly poor standard of care which I think is terrible but I have not experienced this. Mine is consultant lead care and I am finding the standard of care that I receive to be absolutely fabulous.
. I too am prescribed iron for the duration but it doesn't seem to be making much difference.

My midwife has booked me in for my 39 week check on the date of my C Section. I phoned the doctors to cancel the appointment but haven't bothered re-scheduling it. If she can't spot that there is protein and some sort of 'lytes' in my water then she is no good to me. With 7 days left i'll take my chances!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110

That is a particularly poor show Charlie as urinalysis test strips are pretty much self explanatory.
. Was it a one off oversight on her part?

Congratulations on Team Blue Twil1ght!
I know how you feel about the name - I thought perhaps crying during labour until he agrees might secure it for me?:rotfl:
It's worth a try. Or just go and register the birth on your own and put whichever name you prefer. I know someone whose dad did this.
Don't think anything will work for me though. He says it's like calling your child Michael Jackson, Florence Nightingale or Bruce Forsyth. I've asked a couple of friends and they agree with him. Boo0 -

Not sure hun. It's only cos I had a midwife appointment in the morning and then ended up at hospital on the same night that I ever knew about it. I may never have known otherwiseBeautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -

hi Apricot I'm a team yellow. Can't wait to find out if we're having a boy or a girl though!
Koalamummy I'm glad you're getting some really good care. I work for the NHS too so sometimes it's hard to see myself as a patient and not an employee. I've got my iron tablets but they came with no information of any explanation so I've just had to phone the GP to get all that explained. It's like pulling teeth sometimes!0 -
Hi Apricot, I'm yellow as well. We've already decided we doon't want to know the sex- would rather it's a surprise.0

Im desperate to know what the name is now
I'm not saying too much as don't want to clearly identify myself. It's related to our profession too. Closest I can think is it'd be like 2 musicians or music teachers called Mr & Mrs Elgar naming their son Edward. A historical person but a pretty well known household name. Our surname is more common than that though so doesn't hugely stand out an I don't think it's that bad but everyone else I ask does.0
