I am trying to imagine my DH nesting....... It worries me slightly!! That might be because i am a) control freak or b) I know what he's like!!!
Honestly, I am thinking about writing a book of his antics when it comes to household/DIY/cleaning. Bless him though, he does try!! I think I might start posting his ism's on here, full-on belly laughs may get some boldies on the way!!!:heart2: Mummy to one gorgeous little girl :heart2:0 -
I felt so pathetic afterwards & OH just sort of stared at me in amusement - bl00dy unsympathetic man!
Is there a race on now between you nearly due girlies? Maybe you should all try one different eviction technique each and we can test which one works best:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

Baby deffo not going to come this week, I just feel it. I have resigned myself to the fact I am going to be induced on the 30th:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Hi everyone, well, I've posted a few times in here during my pregnancy and I just want to say thanks for all the reassurance
I gave birth on Monday 28th March, a little girl, Amelia Celeste weighing in at 8lb 4oz and I am proud to say I did it all on gas and air only though I did need a cut.
Just getting into the swing of things, she woke up four times in the night for a feed, as I'm breastfeeding this means I feel a bit like a zombie :rotfl:
My hubby has been amazing, bringing flowers, cleaning the house, doing night nappy changes so I can get some rest, even if he is at work the next day. I am a bit emotional still, lack of sleep and hormones, but she is just so gorgeous, one look at her and it's all worth it.
Good luck to all mummies, daddies and bumps :beer:0 -
Am loving the live updates Keith! Best wishes to you and your wife. Hope you will be having cuddles soon!
I do believe there is a race on Apricot lol. I think we've all been having some labour signs for a good couple of weeks now and losing patience fast! C'mon ladies... race ya to the finish line!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
digitalphase wrote: »Hmm the articles seem pretty old, from 2006, so I'm sure car seats have moved on a lot since then. In one article they mention 'stage 1' car seats being suitable for newborns, well I'm sure those of us with car seats for our babies have group 0 or group 0+ - I have, I have the MaxiCosi CabrioFix.
In fact, on MaxiCosi's website they state:
Which makes perfect sense as you would indeed need to stop every two hours anyway at least to either change, feed or soothe.
A lot of articles written are designed for scare mongering and getting our already paranoid brains in a tizz. Common sense would dictate to not keep bubs in a car seat for longer than necessary, however modern day seats are designed specifically for newborns and I feel it's fine to keep them in them for a little while for convenience.
I wouldn't believe ANYTHING written by a company that's main aim is to make money from selling car seats.. they will tell you anything to get you to buy their product.
No in fact car seats while becoming safer in the event of an accident have actually got more upright so actually more unsafe over extended periods.. babies haven't changed they still desat.. a mum over on another thread had to ge a special seat for her granddaugher to come home from hospital as she had massive desats as soon as she was in the car seat. Most research used for psycho analysis is based on research done in the early 1900's.. it doesn't make it less valid information the fact it is a couple of years old.. the fact further research has not been done is appalling, it shows how much control these companies have on marketting and research... not that is isn't worth doing but that some people have the money to fund it not happening! It definitely wouldn't be done in the UK either because over here there is very little value put on the life of a child.
stage 0 are the stage 1 seats, they were recategorised because 0 sounds more newbornish.
Personally, as someone whose children are prone to apnoea attacs and some have been quite premature I wouldn't want to take the risk.. The seats look incredibly uncomfortable even with my 8 month old whopper in them so I wouldn't use them for very long either. I hate seeing them dragged down the street with their little heads wobbling al over because the parents are too lazy to take them out and put them in a pushchair or just carry them.
I think travel systems style things shouldn't be allowed, there simpy shouldn' be the option of trotting round town for hours and hours with a tiny baby screwed up in a car seat..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
