I know that I will doubtlessly be exactly like everybody else if I manage to get there but right now I am desperately hoping against hope that I actually have a full term pregnancy this time.
. Please be kind though if I do get there and not laugh too much at me like I will rightfully deserve! :rotfl:

Congratulations Kittykate!
Well my eviction attempts so far today have been going on a long walk this morning by canal, although seems to have just caused me back pain. Does feel like baby is pushing down when i walk though...well something is causing pain!
I am now on my first cup of RLT of the day.
OH would be very pleased if i suggest DTD later, we did last week but didn't do the trick haha.0 -

I recommend a good long walk, I did three miles on my due date and started contractions at 10pm, giving birth at 2.23 the next day. Lots of steps, rough terrain, and plenty of water.
Thankyou for all the congrats, here is my little angel Amelia and her best pal Bruno0 -
Absolutely gorgeous, you must be so proud!

I really pushed myself on the walk, but didn't feel any initial effects. I went to bed a bit miserable thinking it wasn't going to happen, but started to get contractions, which went from 7mins to 3mins in an hour...my waters broke spectacularly in the car outside the hospital at 1am!
And though the raspberry leaf tea didn't really encourage anything I drank it for the last two weeks of pregnancy (I made an iced tea of it using 3 bags when it was hot), and it has helped everything snap back into shape, I am now back in size 12-14 jeans same as before I was expecting. Bit of a jelly belly to banish but hey that's what magic knickers are for0 -

GOOD marketting thenThey pay a lot of money for that!
No one is suggesting that they keep a baby in the car seat for longer than necessary, but I do think that 30/45 minute breaks are ridiculous and I do not see how they are beneficial to the child. I can see a baby getting upset at being woken so regularly, this in turn upsets the parents. If they are asleep, let them sleep.
Newborns need feeding or changing every two or so hours anyway, so they'd be taken out of the seat then anyway.
Mine didn't.. well.. not all of them.. they mostly went 3-4 hours from the start
Of course closer attention needs to be paid to premature babies, but again this is just common sense, isn't it?
Not for everyone.. and it includes newborns up 6 months..premature or not!
I cannot speak for others, but personally I will only be using my car seat on my buggy for short trips around the supermarket if he has fallen asleep on the way, or a short stop to a shop or something. Otherwise he will only be in the car seat in the car, the longish journey being about 2 hours to see my mum. He will then go in his carrycot or be held unless we go out somewhere else. He will have frequent breaks from the car seat, that's for sure.
We do 2 hour drives to OH's family.. we have had to stop twice for the baby in 8 months.. both times she had pooped. Me however, I need every services we pass.. thankfully there aren't many! I once had to stop 3 times on the way home.
Our car seat stays in the car.. We have her in doors chair and stuff, though she sits unaided now..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
