well I'm back and extremely annoyed. My usual midwife wasnt there so I had some cranky old mare. She was very rough with my bump, which hurt, and said I couldnt have a sweep as 'women have been dooint this for centuries and 3 more weeks wouldnt kill me'.

She has booked me for a sweep on 27th April with herself and said the earliest I can be induced is 30th April. I dont want to see her again so I hope the baby is here before then.

That's not nice

Hopefully baby will come along 'naturally' without needing any helping (or unhelping) hands then.

I've never been offered a sweep, or asked for one, so I don't know what the 'normal' procedure is for having one. I'm thinking I won't ask for induction, but might be tempted to ask my MW for a sweep when I get to full term instead.

Sorry to hear it was so rubbish Vroom.

I don't really want to be induced as won't be able to use pool but I will prob be desperate in a couple of weeks time.

Hello,

I am sat next to my wife's bed in the hospital as she's been kept in tonight. Baby s due tomorrow and wife was due to be swept today but had high blood pressure so was send to hospital for checking.

She's now been swept and now we wait.

So, if you're going on a longish journey you're meant to stop 45 minutes on the dot and wake them up, take them out, then they can go back in? Seems unfair on bubs if they are sleeping

What a b£tch! :mad: Hopefully bubs will come naturally so you don;t have to see this woman again. Can you ask to see someone else if not?
