Can I ask some advice - I have some stomach cramping today but nothing else no bleeding etc. This is my 2nd but I cannot remember this previously. I am 7 weeks +4 - please can anyone put my mind at rest. I am due to see midwife for the 1st time on friday.

Hi all I've been lurking for ages but am always mega behind (and a bit shy). I'm 33 weeks now (due May 27th) and have had severe belly cramps from very early on. Mine are generally in lower belly area and sometimes on either the left or the right but sometimes stretch round to both sides. They vary from mild to completely dehabilitating and last from 2 mins upto 1/2 hr at a time. Midwife says they are round ligament pains due to stretching and are nothing to worry about and completely normal. This is my 4th and I don't remember them being anywhere near as painful before.

Hi and welcome :) Are you sure they are tummy cramps and not pains in your pelvis? Could be SPD?

Unfortunately completely different pains, can say that with confidence as I get SPD too. Luckily my SPD is mild and I only suffer from it once I've sat down in an evening. OH thinks I've turned into a hypacondiac sp??? All I can say is if my oldest had been this bad to carry then he would be an only child! Also have constant nausia, violently sick several times a day (luckily mainly in the evening/nights), they actually prescribed tablets to stop the sickness when the amount of blood I am throwing up reached worring levels. Currently in desperate agony with severe heartburn, gaviscon makes me gag, rennies don't help and the omeprazole the doc just prescribed can take days to have any effect. Tried milk and yoghurt no help, even cut out my favourite diet coke and tea - made no difference, any advice would be much appreciated.

    Evening ladies

I've had a really painful weekend with my SPD. Could have cried all day long yesterday it hurt so much ... and the later it got, the worse it got. It's eased a bit today, but tonight it's pretty horrendous again and I'm dreading bed time because settling down in bed for the night seems to make it 100 times worse :(

On the plus side, it's been soooo sunny here today, and I got to sit out in the back garden and catch some sunshine :D

Oh, and DH says I'm snoring at the moment too LOL

Hope everyone else is good, labour vibes to the boldies. xxx

I've been having tummy cramps too this time (also #4) which I've never had before. It's not my SPD either. Mine are like period cramps and are generally right across my knicker line. They come on all of a sudden and can take ages to pass, and I end up needing a hot water bottle on just like you do sometimes when you have really bad time of the month cramps. They're not pains that come and go like braxton hicks, it tends to just be a dull period type ache. My midwife also said it was nothing to worry about and said it's just part of being pregnant 'after so many other babies'.
