I used TENS first time round and didn't find it useful at all .... I certainly personally wouldn't spend any money on one, as the hospital have them you can use if you want to try it

    Morning all.

Hugs to those who had a pants night, labour vibes to bold ladies!

Been thinking about contraception again, I may look at the implant as not had before, had the depo and I did gain weight although no periods a bonus. Just like the fact it can be taken out.....in case I have a moment of madness and decide I want another baby...which is very unlikely!!!

I loved the TENS I used with DD. My labour was 8 hours all in and i used it for about 4 of those, so it had plenty time to build up. It was a weird sensation at first though.
I liked feeling I was in control using the TENS and G&A. Ill be asking for one again.

I would love to have one at home, but they are too expensive.

With DS didnt have a chance to let it build up. I asked for one and they humoured me by giving me one, even though I was ready to push when I got there. i kept pressing the button through the contractions thinking I could feel it working, but afterwards my OH told me the wires had came off ages before lol

They all seem to have different side effects dont they. if its not weight gain its heavy bleeding or moods.
i was also a cow on the pill. I would snap at the kids all the time. Ive been more teary but so much nicer recently.

Has anyone used the diaphragm/cap or whatever its called?

    PPI Party Pooper
I loved the TENS machine too, it really, really helped. I am just hiring it so £20 well spent as far as i'm concerned especially if it keeps me at home longer and yes the hospital do have them but it's no use in the early stages when I'm at home!

Doesn't appeal to me...a bit er mechanical! you can put in before so you don't spoil the heat of the moment so to speak, but I don't want to put in unnecessarily IYKWIM lol!!

I can't have combined pill because of my BMI and I used to have high blood pressure. Can have mini pill apparently. Means being responsible at 40 and remembering each day!! Thats why I liked the convenience of depo.

    Afternoon Ladies!

sorry have been MIA for a couple of days, have been feeling a bit under the weather with tonsilitis and everything. Have I missed any births?

With regards to contraception, I have no idea what Im going to use. Implanon and depo both caused constant periods in me and I got pregnant whilst on Microgynon. My mum had a coil but she said it made her legs really hairy!

    Hope everyone is well!

I didnt realised you put it in just 'before' i thought it stayed there. i really dont know much about anything other than the combined pill and condoms.

Is depo the injection you get every 3 months? I thought that would be the best option for me other than pill and condoms as I kept forgetting the pill, but ive spent years trying to shift a few extra stone. Ive managed to lose all of it a couple of years ago, and want to get back down after this baby, I dont want to have excess weight gain.
Ill wait and see what the GP suggests at my 6 week check.
