I have just been told that I am "not allowed" to say I am staying at home when I have been told there is no midwife available for a home birth.

I have just heard from a friend about a girl we know who gave birth at home within half an hour of going into labour! It wasn't a planned hb - her hubby delivered the baby with help from the ambulance service on the phone! Second baby and over 9lb! GFH - they should have told her she wasn't allowed to do that!

I am 37 weeks today, so full term. Can't believe it!Two more days at work although they are moving me off my desk on Friday lunchtime and we are going on a long lunch Fri so won't be doing anything Fri afternoon.

Found out some lovely news today too that my manager is just coming up to 12 weeks pregnant and has her scan next week. Slightly sad as means she won't be there when I come back to work and really get on with her but really happy for her too. Explains why she has been so good to me as well throughout pregnancy!

On the subject of contraception i think i will go back on the pill. We can't really afford another one for 3/4 years so won't matter if it takes a while for me to get pregnant after again.

Evening ladies,
Just a quick update from me, Callum Peter was born on 23rd march at 09:38 by c-section weighing 8lbs 11ozs.
Ive been trying to adjust to the extreme lack of sleep as Callum doesn't sleep at all at night and the recovery from the operation is taking it's toll. Very emotional still and perseveringly with breastfeeding although it's been tough. Callum is also jaundiced and we need to wake him for feeds most of the time as he will just sleep on if left.
This is the most difficult thing I think I've ever done!!!
But everyone keeps telling me it'll get better, just not seeing it at present.....

I'm too old to go through this again, in fact I think I'm too old now lol!! Anyway a crying poop monster should be good contraception. Having read up on and seen different views on the implant I may opt for that...as well as crossed legs, abstinence, full length, turn off winceyette nightie, granny pants etc....:D
