Oh's spending is just silly. I do the weeks shopping on a saturday morning and buy nice crusty baguettes with the shopping , so come lunch time I make up fancy panninis or filled baguettes and 9 times out of ten he wanders back from walking the dog and says hes allready eaten ( from the take-away cafe ) so thats like £5 every weekend which he doesnt NEED to spend. He also buys the newspaper everyday and never reads it. Just aswell one of us is a saver otherwise baby would be naked from birth and sleeping in a drawer , lol Mrsspendalot my OH never sees the bigger picture , he always moans that I should enjoy my money and if I want new shoes go and buy them , but im planning how we can save money to put down on a bigger place . His answer to that is "buy the time we sell the flat we will be able to get a 90% mortgage for next house and wont need to put any money in " Maybe if he read the paper he bought everyday he would know that the economy is !!!!ed.Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Alfalfa tell me about it, I have had labour-style pains for a week, but they never amount to anything. Bored now.
You can take a low dose of co-codamol when pregnant. My GP gave me some for my SPD, but it doesn't really do much. Sometimes gives me a better night sleep, but pot luck. Will probably work on cramps though. Paracetamol is fine as well, the low dose is the codeine. Also you're not meant to take it for more than 3 days running as it is addictive apparently...
Good luck myfirstbaby - hope this is it!0 -
Hi ladies, I can empathise - I am the saver in our relationship too. I think OH saves something, so I don't pressure him on it, especially as his latest job pays less than the last one (but he needed to get out of there). However as July approaches I do worry sometimes that even though I am the one that has put aside all my freelance extra money for baby (for 2 years), he might still say something like 'oh well it's ok for you, you don't have to work all day' - which will make me blindingly angry because I could have spent that cash on whatever I wanted, as we didn't even know we were going to try for a baby 2 years ago...
I am sure it won't happen but sometimes the comments he makes about how 'nice it must be' for stay at home mums to just be at home with baby make me feel that ultimately when it's our turn he may resent me, no matter how hard I have saved or how hard my day at home might have been.:):)

That sounds like my hubby going to the shop for milk and bread, and coming home with milk, bread, hot cross buns, biscuits and other treats 'just coz he fancied them' :rotfl: No big deal, other than I have a food budget and he thinks that the budget fairy must buy these extras from the kindness of her heart without any financial impact on us.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

I had co-codamol 30/500 last time as the low dose 8/500 did nothing .... this time we've scrapped the paracetemol completely and she's given me codeine on its own of which I can take up to 60mg a time, 4 times a day :eek:Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

I know for a fact he will go nuts on mothers day with presents for his mum and will probs buy me something really sweet from the bump , and Il be really touched but then a week later he will come to me with his tail between his legs asking for a loan of money.Well I best get on with some work! lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Do you find the codeine on its own helps?0 -
digitalphase wrote: »That's interesting. I'm not sure what mine is, think it may be 30/500mg. It does jack all though. No point me going back to docs as don't think they advise you take it at all in the latter stages of pregnancy, so will just have to soldier on
Do you find the codeine on its own helps?
Yes, if I take 3 tablets together (so 45mg). GP said it was the codeine doing the work in the co-codamol, so may as well just take the codeine alone. She never mentioned anything to me last time or this time about not using it in late pregnancy though.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Yeah the paracetamol is useless against this pain. It's because it's inflammation. Nurofen would be ideal, but of course we're not allowed to take it!
Might be worth me booking another appointment then0
