I kept getting a message come up about being a new user and posting links ...
A very long way to go when looking at everyone else in the list
It will go in the blink of an eye. I should have had baby by now, it doesn't want out. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Good luck My1stbaby hope this is it for you!
Also to Princess and Alfalfa and Grateful, bet you are all fed up...
I need to sort will out, must do, must do! Insurance is sorted and covers the mortgage plus more for the surviving person. We have done is that was as whoever survies would have to bring up baby, so there's no 'extra' for baby just for the remaining partner if that makes sense. Costs us £40 a month which is painful but I guess a necessary thing.
Advertising now for someone to cover my maternity leave, amazing how little people sell themselves or prepare for the actual interviews... harrrummmmpfff....:):)

Afternoon ladies and bumps .... labour vibes to all the boldies
Feeling down today .... sick of being skint
Really need to get back into MSE ways :money: ... which is why I joined the board in the first place.
Shouldn't moan, as overall we have a reasonable amount of money coming in the house, just hubby's debts cripple us (I'm personally debt free since 2008 just before I got with him thanks to MSE) and we seem to spend every penny after bills on paying debt
and to make it worse, he never seems as bothered by it as I do (probably in denial that it's a problem due to his mental health issues)
I sit here stressing about clearing credit cards, whilst he talks about replacing the car! Like that's affordable right now
We knew having a baby now would be financially difficult, but due to other personal circumstances it was the best time overall for us to do it. I guess the financial pressure is starting to catch up now
Anyway, could be worse .... and I have minimal aches and pains again today :j
Oh, and I got a £10 Sainsburys voucher in the post to say sorry for me never having received my Little Ones Club welcome pack with the voucher for the free Huggies Mum to Be box worth £9.99, despite joining in November last yearOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Im worried that my replacement will freak out a couple of weeks into the job and we will be left high and dry.Or that she is a whizz kid and can do everything and when I come back part time (first time anyone in my company has came back part time ) I'll find im no longer needed. Im not going to dwell tho, my new job is being a parent and Il focus on thatThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

mrspendalot try not to worry, once bubs arrives he'll prob snap right out of it once he's aware cash really is tight... I hope, for your sanity anyway!
LabLover same here =- though luckily I am also self employed and do work for customers in evenings and weekends as well as FT job. If needed I could do just the freelance work, just that ideally I'd come back to normal work so I could earn guaranteed wages sort of thing. I imagine I will come back part time, just need to try and work our child care costs and what's worthwhile. Hubbys wages on their own would only pay the fixed bills, no extra cash for savings and clothes that sort of thing. So if I keep the freelance work going, that would supplement a bit, plus we have enough savings for around a year or so.:):)

Hugs Mrsspendalot, me and my OH are having a stressful time with money aswell. OH has some debts (mostly to me ) and I told him to focus at paying off debt and Il build up savings pot for when Im on maternity. And it hit me the other day that he hasnt paid any debt to me in months , Im chucking all my pennies into a savings account plus buying all the baby stuff. AND then his van blew up and he has been making suggestions of buying a new one. I bought the last one and told him that I just cant afford to help him this time so I gather he has went to MIL with tail between his legs. Which is annoying because they assume that its my fault he is in debt with my spending and being pregnant but little do they know its me that keeps him afloat. RANT OVER , LOLThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

SOOOOO glad it's not just me!!!!!
We have just had to spend a fair amount to get ready for baby coming, which I knew we would, and had already factored into my budgetting. But I ask him constantly to not use his credit card to pay for things which should come from the bank account, but he keeps doing it. It throws my budgetting out month after month, as I don't always find out until the credit card statement arrives that it needs more paying off than I have allowed for, and then by that time in the month I'll have run short as the money has been spoken for somewhere else.
I was so thrilled to have become debt free in 2008 and vowed I would never end up debt free again. Now I'm in debt but by association, not in name! It's just as stressful as it was first time round, but more frustrating.
The good thing is, we don't struggle to make the required payments - we struggle because I try too hard to pay them off as soon as is humanly possible, which sometimes isn't all that humanly possible! I just want it gone so we have that cash to actually enjoy each month, or better still, save for a house deposit so we can stop renting!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

mrss - i am the debt worrier here too. managed to pursuade another company to give us another loan to put cards onto so i can bin all the credit cards.... however (if i get the apr advertised) it will only make us about £100 better off a month which still won't help at all as won't even pay for food. so i'll still have to have 1 card on the go so may not accept it once the papers to sign come thro. DH just seems to thinnk there is an edless money tree - take last night... they are getting a pressie in his pool legue for someone who is leaving - this *should* be coming from everyone giving £1.
he asked me if he could take an xtra £30 incase the money wasn't ready from people.... I said No as it simply isn't there to take and he never does bother to get it back off people. so he said "ok give me the card i'll take it off that". eventually i made a big deal of taking it out the 'spare' cash account (we had an extra £500 at beginning of year that i knew would be gradually needed for bills etc) and saying that was it - there actually physically was no more money!!
not sure has sunk in tho!!! as if he is off work sick he doesn't get paid..... leaving this months wages £200 down!
I HATE being in debt!!!! have tried to reduce all outgoings as far down as poss but its got to point now where stuff is so low no companies will beat what i'm already paying.
ETA: got the paperwork for loan £160 a month repayment compared to current CC's of £120 + extra £150 as and when can afford a month....... so not a lot of point. wonder if barclycard will give me another 0% balsnce apr for a year if i transfer another £3000 to their card?? by this point one of other loans will be almost finished..... might ring em tonight between DS going to bed and DH getting home.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0
