Ah, no you're doing it right then! Also just tried one of the teabags my friend gave me and they have loads more flavour :D, so you were right on the dishwater as well (I was using teabags that were like dishwater).

Do you have ribena or anything like that you could add to it - might make it more bearable (not very MSE I appreciate!).

Thanks for that. I'm just putting up with it for now. I did cave in and bought some of the teabags off the Holland & Barrett website last night, so I shall use the loose tea until the tea bags arrive :)

Some exciitng scans coming up - good luck ladies.

Labour vibes to RBG, Hitchins and JoJo

Wendz - Do you get a second Anti-D at 34 weeks? I only had the one at 29 weeks, and then will get another after the birth. At 34 weeks I only had bloods taken. Not that I'm complaining as the Anti-D was so flipping painful!

I am officially ready to go into labour - had my bikini wax done this morning :D

My car is in for a service and I need new brake pads :( I thought I would as they have been rather squeaky lately. I hate this time of year - it's always so expensive with service, insurance etc etc etc - bah

    Hope everyone is well :)

Ive told OH we have plently of room for the baby. Our flat is huge , just a shame the layout is all wrong as it would make an ok 2 bedroom. I sold it to him buy saying that when im off on maternity the mortgage will be small, then when I go back to work we can start looking for a new place and will be able to afford a bigger mortgage. Any joy on the house front for you digital ?
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

    Afternoon

Had my anti d and all was fine. Sammy - yes had to have it at 28 weeks and 34 but I know isn't the same everywhere...not sure why! OH was shocked at the size of the needle haha. Didn't hurt so much today for some reason but my arm is a bit achy.

We found out the sex because OH wanted to know. I wasn't too fussed but glad i know as I like calling her a she.

Does anyone know where the post is about RLT , can't remember how many cups I should be on!

Thanks for the replies ladies I have told her she's not coming in but can be on standby if I get another horrible midwife or something else crops up. She said fine but she's going to write a list for DH of "things to watch out for" ??

Finally got around to posting my birth story for my DD from last January. Apologies it's quite long but I'd typed it up already so have just copied it across.

Wish we could buy, that won't be for a while yet though. Whereabouts in the country are you, hun?

Still looking. Waiting to hear back about the house we put an offer in on last weekend, got another lined up for Sunday, and another has come up that I have been added to a list for them to call me back when they can get viewings done. I am first on the list. They are OK with cats, so that's a good thing, plus its detached. Downside is it is quite a commute from OH's work. We just have to keep looking/viewing/applying until we find somewhere. Or else we'll end up living with OH's parents.

Going to pack my hospital bag in a bit as want to take all the rest of the baby stuff to OH's parents.
I told you all before that the room that was earmarked as a nursery has a fly problem. Well, as the weather is warming up they are coming out even more. 5 in there last night, 3 on the landing, 5 or so more in there today. Gawd knows how they get in - we have taped up the window and the vent!
It's absolutely gross, and even though the stuff is in boxes, it makes me feel sick having flies in there with bub's bits.

I once worked in an office that had a fly issue , everytime you opened the big cupboard massive flies came out .Could never ever find how they got in though ? And there was only ever 3 or 4 flying around at any time , very odd, Live in South Scotland. We only just afforded our one bedroom flat so hoping to save a little more cash to enable us to buy our next place. Ive told OH I couldnt care if I have to sell it and rent a nice 2 bed, im not bothered . Its much easier when you rent , when your boiler blows up you dont have to pay for it , or when the bathroom suite is past its best its all down to your landlord. OH would scream if he saw what I had written , all I ever harped on about was buying a flat , lol
I hope you get somewhere soon , so you can start nesting

Honestly hun, if only it were easier :( In theory they are the landlord's responsibility, but in the case of ours, they shirk it, even though it is in the contract. Along with the fly problem we have to put up with water running down the walls inside the house, damp in the kitchen due to a leaking troughing they wouldnt fix and the drain being too close to the wall so the wall has eroded, a cess pit which stinks all the time (we get next door neighbour's !!!! too), damp in all three bedrooms etc etc etc. All are landlord's responsibility to fix, but he doesn't bother, and there's nothing we can do about it either. That's why we are moving.

Next door (who also rent off same landlord) have had to put up with various issues too, including a broken boiler for 4 months over winter and no hot water. The landlord just leaves it. They have 3 large dogs and are smokers so know they won't find anywhere else to rent around here, it's hard enough being non smokers and just two cats.

At least if we owned we could actually get the things fixed - even if things did need to be put on a credit card then paid off gradually. We are helpless here.

Scotland seems a lot cheaper to buy too, my mate moved from Norfolk to Scotland a few years back and her parents sold their 3 bed semi in a carp area in Norfolk, for a 5 bed detached with loads of land in Scotland. She and her husband have just bought a 3 bed semi (I think, could be a 2 bed) in Elgin, think she said she paid 110k. You'd never get anything of that standard around here for that price.

Ive been there with the horrid rented flat. Mine didnt have central heating , one cr*appy gas fire to heat the whole flat. It was covered in mould and just stank of damp. It was awful , but I couldnt afford to move out, thats when I found MSE and just stashed away as much money as I could every month and put up the cess pit of a flat and finally bought my dream flat.... then 2 weeks after properly moving in I found out I wasnt ill I was pregnant , lol. Prices arent that cheap in my area , we are commuting distance to the city so people buy houses here and travel. A one bed is around 80k , 3 bed semi about 190/200k if you get one needing work done. Still alot cheaper than England tho. I'd love to live further up North , like Elgin or right out on Shetland or Orkney but think my OH would hate it
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
