Heylo Claire im using a couple of creams at the minute so will give you my experience of each:
Re-germ (not 100% sure of name ) oil- could be Re-Gen. Anyhoo its next to the bio-oil in Asda and is cheaper equivilent. You only need a tiny bit ,smells a bit like something you might put on a car tho and for some reason my dog tries to lick it off bump before I get pj top on. I use this after a bath

Palmer mum to be coco butter
Use this in the morning after a shower ,I dont really mind the smell of it

Palmer butter coco butter (non maternity) have always used in the past on thigh stretch marks and I like the smell of this one more than the mum to be one.

Asda little Angels mum to be cream
Smells amazing and doesnt leave your tummy greasy, my sister ever uses it on her hands every time she visits. So this is probs my fave
Edit to add : it has rose hip in it so not sure if that what the nice smell is but its very fresh and light
    Hope that helps
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

lol! - I really like the smell of this - my skin gets a bit itchy but am just using any old body moisturiser I can get my hands on (am using up my body shop butters at the mo)
Perhaps others will be able to recommend better as I know you can buy special creams to prevent stretchmarks etc...but I've always been lucky on this front so far so have used whatever I can get my hands on!
I have to like the smell though! :D

I'm wondering if they've changed the formula then as I'm sure when I've bought products from the range in the past it smelt much nicer. This lotion smells really chemically, and reminds me of a hospital:( Either that or my sense of smell is just completely off at the moment:rotfl: I too have a massive existing stash of products including BS butters:o but I guess I'm hoping for something that will ward off stretchmarks as well as I know I'm prone to them due to weight fluctuations in the past.

Thanks Apricot and lablover- I will def check out that Asda range, its really well priced as well. I think I'll get a couple of products and alternate them anyway as I tend to get bored using the same products all the time, hence why I have such a massive toiletry stash:o

  • I can't be doing with creams. I already had stretch marks from the last bubs so figured it made no odds lol. But it is nice to get out of the bath and cover yourself with something nice smelling. I've just never been one to care less about how I look on a day to day basis. Maybe I should lol. I dunno. I just figure people can take me or leave me :)

Re sleeping positions, the left hand side isn't good for me. I do try cos my pregnancy pillow gets in between me and hubby so when he's here I shove it to the left and try to sleep but it's not as comfortable as on the right. Plus bubs moves so much now (midnight is his favourite time to have a breakdance in my belly) so I can't really get comfortable at all. He kicks me no matter which position i'm in. It pretty much takes exhaustion to fall asleep now :(

Very worrying that bubs waits until midnight to wake up though. If that's his sleeping pattern I really gotta remind myself to sleep during the day when he arrives or i'll be forever exhausted!

You can get Palmer Cocoa Butter in a fragrance free version now - its exactly the same but doesn't smell of anything!

I have used St Ives Collagen Elastin body moisturiser since 12 weeks. It's lush and is about £1.80 from Home Bargains. Sinks into skin and is not greasy at all. My skin still feels really soft and moisturised in the evenings. My friend bought me some lovely Elemis treats for Xmas (not very MSE I know) and the Japanese Camellia oil is lovely rubbed into bump and lasts ages!
:D Finally decided to start growing up when it comes to money!:j

Not sure if I'm jinxing myself by saying this but bubs has never woken me up during the night. I've woken up needing the loo and needing to turn over cos my hips were aching but bubs has never woken me. Can I really have a baby that sleeps through the night? :D

S/he makes up for it during the day with their wriggling - maybe I'm just a heavy sleeper?
  • My baby was dancing all night last night, using my bladder as a trampoline!! He does it most nights. I actually laughed out loud in the night last night he was so wriggly, DH thought I had gone mad!

Might be this - I know mine is - I can't wear some of my perfumes as they smell yucky now!

Im a bit of a cream nut , I love "products" I must highlight this tho , it doesnt matter what cream you use just now because stretch mark cream cant really prevent them (its just genes) but it can reduce the angry colour. Having nicely moisturised skin will hopefully help with elasticity(sp) but if your going to get them you will , no matter what you use. It is probably better to use the stretch mark creams after birth (they will reduce the colour and size of them ) and use up odds and ends of any creams while pregnant to keep tum nice and moist. Hope that makes sense.

Hi everyone, just popping in to declare that this is the 4th day in a row that I have not been sick:j I am able to eat again and I can feel my energy increasing every day- its so great to feel somewhat normal again:D I still have periods of intense nausea but its not constant, and my fluid intake isn't what it should be but I am deffo getting there. I can't believe how good I feel compared to this time last week, any guilt I had over taking the anti sickness tablets is long gone.

yay on the sick free days :T. I can still remember that wonderful feeling. Just to reassure you some more, Matthew has the right number of limbs, eyes, nose etc...shame he was orange with green spots ;)

Keep eating and drinking. Being hungry or thirsty doesn't help with things. Having looked up how bad hyperemesis can be for you and sproglet, I realised that the tablets were by far the better option.

    Long may the sick-free-ness continue.

The nail polish thing had me chuckling. I have Raynauds, so my nails were a beautiful shade of blue from the start of my labour.
