36 weeks today with my 2nd and not a single stretch mark don't know if it's genetics or just that I make tiddler babies, never used a squirt of cream either I'm too lazy.
Well I've got heavy flu and feel like pap went to bed last night with full supplies - paracetamol, 2L water, box of tissues, wet flannel and I must confess something rather disgusting DD's potty!:o:o:o:o I knew I'd drink loads through the night and couldn't face multiple drips in my state.

All my summer clothes are very old fashioned and work focused. As I won't be in work for another 12 months I think it's only right I treat myself to some lovely summer dresses and wedges - I can just picture myself now strolling through the streets of our village pushing the pram in my new outfits, everyone stopping me to coo ofver baby and telling me how well I look :rotfl:
How I'm going to afford all this on maternity pay or have any idea what size I'll be then I have no idea but I can dream...............
My plan is to work really hard once the baby comes to lose as much weight as I can. I was overweight before I got pregnant but had lost 1.5 stone doing Slimming World at home when I got my bfp so I am getting back on it as soon as I can.
I'm putting any money I get from doing surveys, selling on Ebay, Cashback payments, money I've been given for Christmas/birthdays etc into a special "Yummy Mummy" fund which has a good interest rate so that I can go and have a major shopping spree and get some new clobber in once I have lost a decent amount of weightc_l_a_i_r_e wrote: »Can I just ask what everyone is using to moisturise their belly and boobs. My OH picked me up some Palmers cocoa butter lotion and the smell is horrendous which puts me of using it. But I def need to be using something as my skin is itching quite a lot and its really uncomfortable. I don't have a budget in mind but would love to hear other peeps reccomendations.
I use this http://www.mamamio.com/us/tummy-rub-stretch-mark-butter.html I was a little put off by the price but it had come recommended to me by a number of people and it is absolutely amazing. I tried Palmers Cocoa Butter but the smell of it makes me feel sick. I buy it when they have special codes for £10 off and a tub lasts me quite a while even using it everyday. It really soothes the itchiness of my bump and I haven't got any stretch marks yet and I am 37 weeks on Saturday.
The way I see it is I've had to give up lots of things I love during pregnancy - brie, soft boiled eggs, Baileys, Crabbies Ginger Ale, raspberry mojitos, buying pretty high heels, nice clothes so I think treating myself to a lovely cream isn't so bad .
I'm am a bit of a product junkie though I must admit
All is well here - the nesting instinct has kicked in big time. I decided to quickly clean the bathroom sink and ended up deep cleaning the whole bathroom, then going round with the duster blitzing everything in sight! Very unlike me! I keep eyeing up the cooker top as it could do with a clean but am going to leave it till tomorrow - am hoping that I will get the rest of the house clean and tidy tomorrowmay as well make the most of it while I'm in this mood
One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
I'm working up to the week before EDD. It'll be reet. I'd rather have the time off with bubs.
As for BF, I'll join in the hoo har. This is my first baby, I am confident handling this and other babies as I come from a large family and large work place so there is always some baby around. I'll have a go. If it works it works, if it doesn't I'll formula feed. I'm not going to stress myself out or fulfil other peoples notions of what I should do. I will do what's right for me, my baby and it's me who'll decide.

Fairy - Well done on the cleaning, need to do our bathroom this weekend! The yummy mummy fund sounds like a great idea.
Fantafan - I agree, you can only try and do your best can't you!0 -
Good evening ladies
Shazza - I hear you on the nesting!! I cannot stop picking up a duster or the hoover to have a quick cleanMy house has never been so clean lol
PC - Sorry you are feeling rubbishYay for 36 weeks though - not long to go :j
Perdi - Sorry you're feeling rubbish too (((hugs)))
RE stretchmarks - I looked at Bio-Oil not long after I got my BFP and  at the price. I didn't buy it and have just been using what body lotion I have in the house ( I have a huge toiletry stash) I'm neaing the end of a lovely Crabtree and Evelyn lotion, and am proud to say I don't have one single stretchmark
I do think it is down to genetics mostly as my mum never had any after 3 kids and my sister didn't get any after her boy, so fingers crossed I won't too!
Sorry, I cannot remember anything else!
I had a fight with a chenille throw and the washing machine today, and I lost. Cue mahooosive amounts of fluff just spewing out of my washing machineIt really is quite stressful and I've given up tonight - I'll have another go at clearing it tomorrow.
I'm so excited - I've got the oldies visiting for the weekend and my dad is going to do loads of DIY stuff for us so we're all ready for baby :j:j
Epic post from me - apologies. Hope you all have a good nights sleep x0 -
Had a rethink about my new maternity clothes from peacocks. Showed husband them on and he said they look alright so it will be fine lol. I just couldnt decide if I looked pregnant or fat - Ive gone with both right now lol! But once bump is a bit more round it will be fine. I have kind of a weird shape to it at the minute. goes out above my button and below but not so much at my button! Argh, nightmare
I have been using Palmers cocoa butter as my sister bought me it as part of a birthday pressie. I also have mum to be organics stretch mark oil from Sainsburys but its very oily so dont apply it very often.
I have been looking today to sort out my maternity leave and holidays before hand. Its tough knowing when to start it all. Im undecided what to do, when is the best time to leave.:j0 -

Been for growth scan, all good. Group B strep...no screening as routine, but the test is cheap apparently, a vaginal swab the m/w can do, so I am going to get it done.
Glad scan went well! Yes, the test is only £32 which I think is good for peace of mind.

Re: breast feeding and confidence. I've not held a baby for ages, and before that was positively years ago. However I will not be scared to hold my own. I look on it that they are a hell of a lot tougher and bigger than baby guinea pigs (for example!), and I've handled a few of them :rotfl: TBH confidence comes into play a lot with animals. I had horses, and you need to be confident around them or they take the pee out of you.
I am definitely going to give breast feeding a go, decided from the off, but if it doesn't work out I am certainly not going to beat myself up. Formula is very good these days and bubs won't be missing out if we can't breast feed
I am using Bio Oil. It's pretty cheap, a tenner for 200ml which lasts months and months. Smells lush and makes my skin feel lovely0 -
Supermaiden - with maternity leave i think it really depends on the kind of job you do. As I work in an office I felt i could stay a bit longer. Still wish a bit I was starting earlier than 37 weeks though so have a good think about it. I am using two weeks of holiday at begining of mine so actually start ML two days before i'm due.0
