Sorry to hear about the SPD Mrsspendalot , sounds like a good idea to take it easy rather than work though!

I have just finished lunch but still hungry :(
It's just me at home tonight for tea as kids are at their dad's and OH is working late so I'm not sure either?

Just had call to say my last Parentcraft class has been cancelled tonight - Midwife is sick (how dare she :rotfl:)

Was the most important one too - breastfeeding :mad:
  • Can anyone remember when you get your MAT B 1 form? Just thought about it! I'm 21 + 5 today, won't see midwife for another 4 weeks. Do I need it for employer before then?

mrsspendalot - I got mine at 24 weeks appointment. I had to give mine to my eployer 15 weeks before due, not sure of official line on it though.

Dusty - how annoying about the class being cancelled!
  • Might ask my HR department what date they need things by, as I don't want to miss it! I'll be 25 + 5 weeks next time I see midwife, so will probably need it before then!!

If you need it before you can get them to sign it and leave it at your doctors for you or something? Give midwife a call and ask when you have found out from your HR.

I got mine at my 18 week appointment but I think they're supposed to give it at 20 weeks.

Pigpen, I think you just missed a comma out or maybe "just ask" would have sounded friendlier and less confusing. (just a thought)
12 years posting? Wow. I have managed to ween myself off posting so much as I started to think I was a bit sad waking up and grabbing my laptop before I even got out of bed to see what I'd missed. I have to remind myself there's a life outside of the internet frequently!
  • To be on safe side, I'll mention it to GP when she phones me later about sick note. She might sort it out at same time.

It was directed at everyone who had had something said to them and they didn't know why, then asked on here.. For example the ones who had been told to sleep on their left and didn't know why.. if you don't know or understand.. ask.. simple as.. there seem to have been a lot the last few days.. I thought it was perfectly plain in my post.. maybe not *shrug*

Mind you.. the very rare occasion I asked anything I usually got the response 'I don't know'.. which wasn't very helpful! lol and meant I had to come home and read medical research and surverys and reports.. I'm not very good at doing as I am told with no explanation.

It just came across a bit patronising that's all - I'm sure that's not what you intended - I agree it's good advice to ask if there's something you don't understand - I personally would if it was suggested by my midwife.

I'm not sure who had been told to sleep on their left (if anybody) but I think confusion often arises from things we see on TV and all the differing medical advice (often courtesy of our friend mr google) - that's why I like this thread - you get others views and perspectives.
I don't want to feel I can't ask something for risk of being lambasted for not asking my midwife (who is very hard to get hold of) :o
