It was a real medical adventure. I will write a birth story as soon as I have caught up with 'normal' life.
Everything well worth it. I just look at her and my heart melts and I get tears to my eyes.

Hi all,

Congrats to Flower and any other new mummies, enjoy your little bundle!

In terms of moisturiser I have been using the last of my Palmers cocoa butter but hoping this weekend to make my own from raw shea butter, jojoba oil and water, as have some at home and it's more MSE...

Dusty I haven't reached your chat with mum level just yet but mine is with us a week before birth to help out, so I have already said that's great but she'd stay with my brother after the birth sort of thing. Thing is he can be really immature and I can imagine him pulling a strop (at 32, and yes he still does) and leaving me right in it just as I am about to give birth! The fact we have more space that he does doesn't help... So I definately know what your mum's sort of emotional blackmail or guilt trips can feel like - stay strong and don't feel guilty about wanting your family's needs met at such an important time. You have started as you mean to go on, hopefully she will get the message!

Talking about Mum's I think my Dad has warned mine not to interfere as she keeps saying things like 'I will come up when I am allowed' bless her.

7 more weeks at work, my manager is still saying I can see how i cope next couple of weeks though as to if i want to stay that long but i'm doing fine at the moment.

Dusty - when it comes to you wanting to be alone for a bit in hospital, could you phrase it so that she's the person you trust at that moment to make all the calls that need to be made and pass on all the details that need to be passed on? After all, DH will be in too much of a tizz to remember anything sensible to say Give her your mobile, a list of names and numbers and maybe a few quid for a lovely coffee and piece of cake to thank her for doing such an important job. That way she's not feeling pushed out, but is finding herself doing a very 'important' job for you.

Supermaiden - I don't think anything really works for stretchmarks. I used boots stretchmark oil and still have them. Now I'm just using moisturiser to stop them going dry and scaly
