I've just brought one of these from ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220737837060&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
This is on my 'must have' listas I had one with DS and then DD and they were both fascinated by it for those early months - I found it really helped.
It's usually around the 45 to 50 quid mark when you can find it in stock so I think I've done ok getting for 20 all in.
I sold mine years ago on ebay!0 -

Quick post from my phone. Those with spd how did it start? I've had a niggling pain in my back for a couple of weeks now but nothing major tbh but it seems to have gotten a lot worse over the last few days especially in the nights for some reason. I just tried to get out of bed to go to the loo and it was absolute agony trying to walk. The pain is very localised though, at the base of my back on the left and the right (no pain in middle/spine). As I don't have a midwife appointment for ages I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do? I mean I'm not even carrying that much extra weight yet so can only see that it's going to get a lot worse.
Apologies for the humungous post (it feels humungous on my phone anyway)
Sounds like SPD to meMine started as a pain in my hip, and I thought it was sciatica. It was especially worse lying in bed and at the end of a long walk. Got progressively worse, after one walk I was in agony (though didn't hurt for most of the walk), and pulling my long boots off was really painful.
Now it really hurts turning over in bed, baths help but are a struggle to get out of, my left hip is the worse and I can feel it sore inside my groin, does feel like several pulled muscles. Stairs are annoying, have to go up them one at a time. Toilet is upstairs so have to do it. If I go for a walk about town (small one) or shop, I suffer for it afterwards. Getting in and out of car is a pain, and actually driving hurts a bit too.
SPD doesn't care how old you are, it's to do with the hormone Relaxin. I think those of us with it produce too much/too soon.
Make sure you go to GP a.s.a.p to get contact details for physio. I have had to wait 3 weeks to see one. Got my first appointment on Tuesday and really hoping they can help me.
Makes me so down to be stuck in the house all day. I hate it0 -

You'd be quite within your rights to do so - other people wouldn't have a right to know if you had decided to find out.
Yes I'm quite annoying too apparently! :rotfl:
Some people do suddenly appear to think they have a right to know these sorts of things when you are expecting.
I hate the questions I get from work colleagues who I hardly know on a personal basis - things like 'was it planned?' and questions about the birth and suchlike.
Everybody has an opinion too whether they have kids or not.
I tend to be a bit cagey too - but the less you volunteer you more questions you get asked :mad:0 -
Have my triple test this pm - keeping fingers crossed for a good result (was pleased that I get out of work early but my boss wants me to come back afterwards  )Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
