Quick post from my phone. Those with spd how did it start? I've had a niggling pain in my back for a couple of weeks now but nothing major tbh but it seems to have gotten a lot worse over the last few days especially in the nights for some reason. I just tried to get out of bed to go to the loo and it was absolute agony trying to walk. The pain is very localised though, at the base of my back on the left and the right (no pain in middle/spine). As I don't have a midwife appointment for ages I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do? I mean I'm not even carrying that much extra weight yet so can only see that it's going to get a lot worse.
I could have written thisIt aches constantly from the base of my spine radiating out towards my hips. It didn't occur to me that it might be SPD. I've been using a hot water bottle, but I feel like it's starting to ache earlier and earlier each day.
I'm feeling really down today - my husband's friend's husband died yesterday of a massive heart attack. He was only 39. I just can't stop thinking about him, and his wife and daughter are such lovely people. My husband woke me up snoring in the early hours, and all I could think was 'I bet she would give anything to have him there now snoring away'. I just can't believe it. Only 39.0 -

That's really sad news C&C- did he have suspected heart problems or was it just out of the blue?
Re the SPD - I don't really know what this is to be honest - I have pain in my buttocks and hips constantly and it gets a lot worse at night when I am lying on my side - wakes me up then I have to lie on the other side until that gets too painful and so on.
I was advised to sleep with a pillow between my legs and told it was sciatica - I've had it in all my pregnancies and it goes away after birth.
I think SPD stops you walking and moving? - I really don't know enough about it0 -

Completely out of the blue - nothing at all wrong with him, not ill, not obese (slightly plump in the middle, but not that much). His daughter found him on the floor dead when she got home from school ... I can't imagine how she must be feeling. Everyone is in such shock.

Hugs C&C....it's always when it happens to others it makes you really grateful for what you have....give your hubby a big hug and tell him you love him
Gbaby have fun this weekendand keep an eye on the pain as that's how mine started. If you can get an early appt with a physio just to get some exercises to stop it getting any worse I would do so as I kept putting it off and my pain is now so bad I can't actually move around as much as I want (hopefully I am only having a flare and it will settle later lol)
Hugs to Tickle although I won't hug to tight just in case :P
Ok going to get ready to go to the Drs......see you all in a bit
labour vibes to all in need and hugs to everyone xxxxxThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110 -
Wow, not many posts since I was on last. Thanks for the advice RBG I could barely walk to the loo last night (lucky I wasn't desperate or I would have wet myself:rotfl:)
Whatever it is I want it gone! Im only blooming 23 surely my body should be able to handle a little extra weight!
Have my triple test this pm - keeping fingers crossed for a good result (was pleased that I get out of work early but my boss wants me to come back afterwards  )
Am very hungry this morning and considering making a start on the custard creams:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Congrats SJP !!! Lovely name. Apricot Ive been having some pain in my back aswell , but mines is in the top at the left hand side(sometimes goes down to my bum cheek). I think it may be a trapped nerve or something because when I bend down to put socks on I get this tingly feeling like a spider crawling under my skin , followed by pain. Doesnt ease much during the day and gets worse at night. Ive just been using a wheat bag in bed and im only hoovering once a week because when I hoover I get severe pain for days after.
Edit to add Im only 23 as well , im convinced by the end of this pregnancy I will walking hunched over like an apeThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
