because there is no family history, i wasnt diagnosed until i was 13. the consultant at the hospital asked to see my brother and sister. he took one look at them ( theyre both faur skinned and blonde, i'm dark skinned and dark haired0 HE SAID 'I DONT THINK WE NEED TO SEE THEIR FATHER!' MY MUM WENT SPARE AND THEY DIDNT ASK AGAIN LOL

Bloody hell, I honestly don't know why some people even want to be Dr's when their interpersonal skills are so pitiful.

  • Hi all,

I've just received a letter stating my daughter will receive HRM from 11/04/11 indefinitely (she has no light perception). Our surname begins with W so they must have processed most of them.

That's for people who were called, if they contacted people such as me via a form then by the time we sent in back it goes in a line with when the post arrives. My surname is B and still waiting and they got my form on the 27th Jan but their watching for another letter from my specialist, not looking good though.

Well done you glad it all worked out :)
The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.

They were supposed to be calling everybody, they only wrote to those that they couldn't reach by phone.

Yeah that's why they wrote to me early Dec because they had an old number for me.

I never got a phone call but my forms arrived yesterday lol already had a new CVI made an appointment in December in anticipation of this. I SHOULD qualify but know enough by now not to count on that.

Posted it off today now the waiting begins.

We sent my partner's off today too! I wonder if we'll hear back on the same day?

Just wanted to mention as well to give hope to others, that my partner won his tribunal yesterday to claim MRC (he was on LRC before). He was only in there for 15mins and they unanimously decided in favour within a minute of him leaving the room. They said that they would have to disregard the ESA report from Atos as it was so flawed and incorrect. They said that they'd had many other tribunal cases recently that had incorrect Atos reports.

My surname starts with a Y so nailed on to be last, only thing in my favour was I already had my up to date CVI.
  • I'm just waiting to hear now after sending my form off. I was awarded HRM last year for other mobility issues but then my condition improved so I stopped claiming. Maybe if I get another HRM award my sight will improve and I'll able to see again! :rotfl:
